Having an extremely tough time deciding between 99/01 Cobra bumper, and 03-04, help

Bought my first 99/01 bumper, it got damaged when my car slid into a curb on ice. Bought a second one, and now I'm really on the fence. So, I have another one sitting in the house, but I'm not opposed to buying an 03-04 and letting it sit. I definitely would use the 99/01 on a white car, no question about it. Baznastydave settled that, for whenever I buy a white GT or 99/01 Cobra. Have a silver GT, black GT, want a white one also for no real reason.

I've seen a few silver cars all over the forum with 03-04 bumpers and cowl hoods, and they are absolutely gorgeous. Not as much of a fan of the less aggressive lower grill, but the upwards curve to the bottom of the 99/01 bumper has always thrown me off with it in silver. It's lower "fangs" also look far better in white, yellow, red, etc. 03-04 bumper just seems to fit silver better.

So, please vote and post up 8 million pictures of silver cars with 03-04 bumpers, preferably without stock 03-04 hoods. I'm settled on a cowl. I'll start off with a couple pictures of ibite03's car. Only difference is I'd want the 2.5" cowl over his 4 inch.

Never been a fan of termi bumpers because the foglight area looked to bubbly. Go with the 01. Plus you will look a little different than every other modded stang out there

That's another plus. Added airflow for a heat exchanger or air/air intercooler. I'll get around to my turbo build one day. At the moment, I have 4 cars, on top of a bike payment, so progress will be slow. Was planning to have both of my Teksid blocks machined by spring. Oh well. That'll be the biggest leap at least. Need to know if either block can be used at stock bore, or if I have to go .020" over, so I can finally order pistons.

You didn't read the thread. I have a 99/01 bumper.. Just starting to not like the idea of using it on my silver GT. I prefer it's looks on a white car.

Actually almost considered buying one. I prefer a Saleen bumper on a black 99-04, though. I'm very picky with which body parts to use on which color. Took me forever to decided between a Saleen wing or 03-04 spoiler for the silver one.

I think 03/04 bumpers generally look dumb/cheap/ugly on anything but a Terminator. Some cars make it look decent, but 9 times out of 10 the stock bumper would look better.

Had to have an orange clutch as well. Can't be seen, but I like knowing that I have an orange clutch. :lol

I completely agree with you there. It is generally pretty fugly when you see an 03-04 bumper on an otherwise stock GT. Stock spoiler, stock hood and fake hood scoop, etc. I already have the 03-04 spoiler, though. Planning on 03-04 mirrors, sideskirts, and then a 2.5" cowl to fill out the look. I think it'd be very nice. Baker's car gets compliments left and right.

Too many v6 **** run the 03/04 front.
Ironically, I know of a dude with two V6s, both with 99/01 bumpers. Probably going to order the prepainted ebay 03-04 bumper just to test it out. From every picture I've seen, 03-04 just works better in silver.

Even considering the hideous two tone and carbon fiber hood, this just looks better to me. More of a complete look. I guess the size of the 03-04 helps fill out the car. GT and 99/01 bumpers are just so tiny, and then the way the 99/01 is like curved up throughout the front makes it worse. The car needs to be extremely low, and have a chin spoiler (Which I don't want on a 99/01) to look good in silver.

I don't know, I had a silver gt and put a 03/04 bumper on it and loved it.

I currently have an 04 cobra and for some reason I just don't dig it as much. Maybe because I have a license plate in the middle of this one. lol

The only thing I don't like about the 99/01 is how it almost looks like it points upward and the bow in it. It creates a 4x4 look even on lowered cars. Its better with a chin spoiler, but most chin spoilers don't fit it right and don't sit flush so it looks obvious that it don't belong. And the bow really stands out with a mach 1 chin too. With the right stance though, its one nasty and menacing looking bumper! I like that the 03/04 is much lower to the ground and flat across but I must admit, it gets played out too often. Like Ca said, too many V6 cars have em. But both can look good on the right car, that's for sure!

I'm still working on getting them on the market. Unfortunately life threw me a curveball recently so I had to put things on hold for a bit, but they're still on the way. The good news is they'll probably be made of urethane instead of fiberglass

03/04 gets my vote!

Well now it's only like 20 to 5 for the 99/01. Meh. I don't know. I know for sure I like the 03-04 in silver in person, but I've never seen a silver with a 99/01 bumper in person. Test fitted mine for a whole week before it was damaged, still black.

It was actually pretty nice when you looked at it from the right angle, to factor in the black FR500s. I got a lot of random compliments on it. My 03-04 Cobra spoiler is still black, no ****s given.
