i ran 19degrees one time with 91 octane. 91 is the highest we have too.

I was at the track, had it set at 16, and started bumping it up to see if it would go faster. at 19 degrees I lost 1-2mph but no pining or nothing, ran fine.

I have trickflow heads which is suppose to make it safer to run more timing, but doesn't change the fact that I gained nothing from more timing.

I think 14-16 would be perfect for you, but only the track could really tell you.

after speaking to a couple of mechanics today i hear that with 175k miles on the motor this option would not be a good idea for me. I was really wanting to buy a set of tf twisted wedge heads. Is mileage on the car really something to worry about?
So you have 20 year old car with 178k miles. You mounted some slicks on it and took it to the track, where you proceeded to romp the **** out of it 3 or 4 times. Was that really a good idea? All depends. Is this your daily driver? If yes going to the track was a bad idea. If not screw it, do whatever you want just be prepared to deal with consequences.

couldnt of said it beter but different topend has nothing to do with miles..only thing is if you were going to spin it higher
