Header question.

So I own a 2001 Mustang Cobra. So far it has:
IRS brace
CAI
3.73's
Bassani with an x-pipe
Caster camber plates
Steeda Tri-ax
Centerforce clutch
Underdrive pulleys

I really want to do something else to it. My buddy told me I should get some headers on there. What are some good brands? And ultimately, how much will this kind of upgrade run me?

not a fan of jlt personally, denscharger is a good intake; keep it. as far as the headers, how much you want to spend? the mac's are good for the $$$, but the best are ones like slp, american racing headers, kooks, etc. i would look into a mach intake manifold as well, maybe have it ported as well.

If you get a shop to do it you are looking at somewhere around $1000(install and headers). Don't bother with a ported intake unless you are getting cams. Get an intake spacer(100 vs 600).

I've been looking at BBK headers. I've seen video's of Cobra's with them on youtube, and they sound pretty good. If I wanted to spend $1000 give or take for a complete setup, what would be a good brand?
One more thing, I dont want my car to be super loud so it will wake up all my neighbors. Will they headers make a HUGE difference in sound?

I just put SLP long tube headers on my car, I tried my darnest to do it myself. I got as far as having the driver side header off and that was as far as I could get, and I had a car lift. So I trailored it to a friends shop, it took them 15 hours to do the rest and I had about 5 hours in it with just taking off that one header. at $60 and hour it woulda cost me $900, but they only charged me $500. The guy said in 21 years of working on exhuast that was the WORST he has ever done and will never do another one. I put all new SLP exhuast on from there back myself and the air flow is freaking amazing now, and it sounds like a race car lol, it would be to loud for what your looking for, just wanted you to be ready to spend some $ if you go through with it...

you got any videos or sound clips of your set up? I would really like to see/hear them if you do...

I got mine through dagostinoracing.com As far as your setup in particular, I don't know the cost. Mine with a midpipe ran me somewhere around $1300
I would also like to hear yours Fluffy, if you've got some vids or something, post them up for me

Yea thats what i've heard about the SLP's haha. I would love to put those on my car, but im sure my neighbors would be pretty upset lol. I was looking at bassani headers also, are they any good? they look like there in my price range.

Oh whats a good website to find headers? All the websites i've found seem to just have BBK mostly.

Im guessing your looking at long tube headers, what coating you looking to go with, everyone told me Ceramic, so thats what I got. It sould be about that same hp, you should get a short X Mid pipe too instead of and H, maybe that was already stated above, idk, im running off 4 hours of sleep and dont feel like reading lol sorry

Would it be a better idea to buy a new throttle body before the headers? This is probably a stupid question, but I was looking at the throttle bodies online and whats with difference in the 65mm, 70mm, and the 75mm? Yes I know thats the size, but is there a differnce in performance or anything?

I was told not to waste the money on a TB, but the stock Mach TB are already good so im told, you'll prob notice alittle in difference in throttle reponse and gain a few hp, maybe someone with a Cobra could anwser that one a little better

i hear that u gain a guarenteed bout 50hp on a termi if u upgrade ur throttle, but that is because they are f.i....other than that they say that mach 1 and other cobra throttle bodies do good
