Help with mods on 09

Okay here it is im new to all the mods on my 09. I been looking everywhere for ideas and to find parts for a steal on say craigslist, forums, or even eBay.
So far i have a dual exhaust (magnaflow) sitting in my garage. I have no idea if i should/could buy a offroad x-pipe or if i should just stick with a standard x-pipe off pypesexhaust.com. Which would be the better outcome for sound/performance?

Then another question is with a cai. I can find several people selling good cai say bbk jlt or k&n. but the thing is its never for a v6 always for a v8. Im not trying to spend 250 on a new one if i can find one cheap as 100-150. So i guess the question is would a v8 cai fit? or would i have to keep looking and get lucky for someone to sell a v6.

as of right now my car is stock besides a audio system, window tint, and blacked out tail lights.

if the price is right i would def go with the cai and tune.

No. The V6 Throttle Body is a smaller opening than the V8. If you are looking into exhaust stuff, I am looking to get rid of the stock H-Pipe from my car. I am down in the area frequently and would be happy to drive it out to you. A shop would have to make the h pipe bolt up to what you have but shouldnt charge you an arm and a leg.

What part number do you have from Magnaflow? Is it #16605?


And don't spend you money on a throttle body. Without forced induction (super/turbo charger) it is not worth it.


Strut tower brace is a questionable mod. Some say it doesn't do anything for performance. You should just get some lower control arms if you want a quick suspension boost. I have them and they are great.


Gears and tlok are a great starting mod.


A handheld tuner would be a wise investment. It is great to have for nearly every mod you do, and it adds some nice power.

so would the h pipe be a big upgrade to the y? well obviously but whats the main difference between the h and x. from what i heard x is performance and low sound and h is deeper tone? And if so what would you charge for the h?

X will get you more power than an H, but nothing you will be able to notice. I wont charge anything, since i just want it out of the way. this ****er is huge and takes up space. **** you can sell the cats off of it for all i care, im just trying to help a brother out. :lol

and yes v6 they look exactly like the #16605 but they dont have the black its just all chrome.
when it comes to the throttle body i heard it did make a difference but i wasnt sure if i should go with it yet since i dont have any major upgrades.

for the strut tower brace i was just going to go with that due to it being a cheap an easy upgrade and also makes the engine bay look a little better. and with the tuner im def going to get one after i get the cai. is there a certain one to go with or what. i have no idea what or how a tuner works.

I was very doubtful when I bought my strut tower brace, but I figured for $50, at least it will look good. I can notice a difference in cornering and the car feels more planted. Not a huge difference, but I think it's noticeable.

hell yeah bro ill take it better then this stock y i have. u think this will add a much deeper sound to the car?

i also got a guy who would sell me some long tube headers for $100 off cl. if were to go with that, like what else would i have to do? and which would u prefer?

not sure about LTs on a v6. It might not be worth the time to do them (install ****ing sucks nuts). the H should make a decent increase in deepness

I bought ALL my stuff for my old sixer off i CL and ebay :p you just gotta be patient! but a warning...buying gears/tlok is a mandatory BUY NEW...buying used gears is risky and it blew out my whole rear end when i did it!
