I kept changing my mind whether im going to keep the car for a while or sell whithing a year and get something new... BUT I LOVE MY CAR LOL , I did alot of things to it already, like AP Racing brakes, Suspension, and Exterior such as rims , hood, gt500 spoiler,, center lights, stripes... and for the power i have a C&L w. Bama93 :D .. So i would love to keep it and do some REAL POWER to it..but i just need a manual for that.... HAS ANYONE DONE THIS ??? Cost??? Outcome??? mayb gettin a 5 or even mayb a 6 Speed

where are you getting the idea that a manual will yield more power?

psfracer has an auto and has 577rwhp running at 10.544 at 126mph.....all it takes is a good stall converter...

When you have a stall converter with a 3000 rpm stall speed, that doesn't mean you have to take it up to 3000 during normal driving to get the car rolling.

It means it doesn't fully lock up until 3000 so that you ca stand on the brakes or use a line lock system, and hold your rpm's up there while you're staging and getting ready to launch.

i know a guy with a 2000 Z28 that is a dd with a 3000 stall...he has no issues

either way when you have serious power with a manual or auto your going to have to make those sacrifices for perfromance...its either a 3000 stall or a stage 3 clutch...i drive with a stage 3+ clutch as a dd you get used to it..its worth it

im not gonna lie but autos are beasts on the strip...tuned shift points with a shift kit... and with a stall converter and you have a nasty animal..

I would rarely take the car to the track , im mostly on the city streets or on the highway... i just wannna be able to feel the car more.. I MEAN AT LEAST IF THE THING CAME IN TIP TRONIC ... that would be reasonable. But im def gonna look into the stall convertor, so basically the thing holds 3000 only from like a start wen u launch or , u can drive with it, and it will keep it no less than 3 , if u pass the 3000 mark????

It will drive like a normal car during regular driving. On the occasion you need to launch from a light, you can keep one foot on the brake, and use your other foot to bring the rpm up to about 3000 rpm so that you can launch harder.

The stall speed is actually what they say the engine would 'stall' at a the converter locks up. That doesn't mean the car won't creep forward at idle if you take your foot of the brake, or drive away normally as it always did. It just means it has a higher lock up point.

A manual transmission for 2005+ mustang.

699.99+ shipping. Its a take off. Like when roush or saleen or someone else buys stangs and changes the trans.

Its new, other then the fact that it was installed and on the car long enough for whoever to take it off.

It comes with all the parts.

Now im not sure what else needs to be changed for the converstion, I guess a clutch.....someone else might know more about that off the top of their head.

youll need everything for hte hydraulic clutch assembly...pedal..all the electrical components that go along with it...to me its not worth it..its a lot of work and fabrication cuz you have a lot you have to change..

Honestly, the conversion requires monumental effort, I researched it quite a bit already
Tranny, clutch, cylinder, gotta go to the dealer for a Re-flash to a manual transmission, bunch of other pieces I'm missing. it's $3,000 at a bottom end if you manage to pick up a few pieces for free and can do the work yourself. Otherwise the price just sky rockets, you're 200% better off trading in for a manual if you REALLY need the feeling when you're driving. Otherwise, a buddy of mine provided an interesting solution for the feel of the manual, that being, putting a flash light, or other such object in a cupholder near your shifter, and just "shift" that. He looks a little silly doing it, but I know he knows how to drive a stick, so whatever makes him happy, I'm happy with an auto, and I expect it to me far more streetable than my friends SC manual, 2nd gear is really sensitive, 1st gear is just useless.

I Contemplated on getting a getting a 6-speed with my civic when I was going to get my K20a2... the swap is very possible but some other things my need to be changed in the way of mounts, etc...

I would save the money and get a supercharger and a stall or be a man and go all motor like the few of us and get a stall. The only down side to an auto in a race is the inability to launch hard. Shift for shift you cant beat an auto. But dropping a gear or racing froma rool is hard also. As far as my cars and cars I choose to drive for street racing and the weekend at the track is always manual. ALWAYS. But if i had a bracket racer or a dedicated track car that ran 11's or better it would be a auto with a stall and all that crap. I personaly think if you love your car and you dont mind the auto just get the stall and more power adding parts. And if you stay all motor give rich a call and he will set you up for the win. If you want an s/c give seth at brenspeed a call.

a stick IS more fun to drive on the street, but its not worth the swap......too much labor, too much money. There are MANY, MANY times i wish i would have bought an auto, especially with the plans I have for my car, Its getting to the point it would be really nice to have an auto haha, but heck I know of a guy around here making 900+ to the wheels in a f1 camaro, still has a 6 spd behind it too. Its just too much FUN!!!!

If you really, REALLY want an stick, the only reasonable way to do it is trade your car in, but i wouldnt because you already have a nice car.

Yea it looks like doing the swap would cost me like 5gs, and thats way to much!! Trading in would also be a bad choice because i have a lot of stuff on the car and i do love it! but im really going to look in to the stall converter and see if its going to work for me. ANYONE IN NYC AREA WHO HAS ONE???

i would never wish an auto on my car. no way. i don't care if i have to drive 2 hrs in rush hr traffic everyday. a manual is how a muscle car is supposed to be driven. trade your car in and let a high school chic buy it so she can teeny bop around w/ an auto. then buy a MANual transmission

take off all the parts you've done to this car and put them on the one you trade it in for. duh.

/search for tranny & stall converter

Okay, we both have cars with the exact same mods. Yours has a manual trans, mine has a stalled, tuned auto. Mine will show you the taillights every time. A human cannot shift as fast, or as consistently has a machine. Period.
