welcome to MM. i'd get a short throw shifter next. and i happen to think ducktail spoilers look great on S197's...

 

Welcome... I concur on the short throw... I have the Pro 5.0 and love in... Definitely a drag racers shifter... I hear good things about the MGW though too... Also look into picking up a setup of stock tale off rims and throw some MT ET streets on the rear and you'll come off the line a ton better... Tubular lower control arms a great upgrade as well...


Just a few fairly inexpensive mods to look into...

 

i'd go with an MGW, then o/r h pipe, then long tubes.

and if your planning on ever running FI, id stay with the 3:73s

 

why buy an o/r midpide if you know you want long tubes? you will just need another mid pipe.


Welcome to the site. some lower control arms could help your track times, also some underdrive pulleys.

Welcome to the site, definitely look for a short throw, some suspension mods, a set of good drag radials, and underdrive pulleys will really get you going. And of course, there's always the cams, a few guys on here have been experimenting with cams and have shown awesome results for NA engines.

I agree with you on the money spending part. i chased my conscince away swiped my card and ordered a procharger now i should be quicker than a stock gt 500 witha good tune.

The popular combo with these Mustangs seems to be the Borla Stinger axle-backs (/FRPP M5230-5GT - they are 99.9% the same) with Kook's long tube headers. From what I've heard there's not much point performance wise going with the full Borla cat-back setup, just swap the axle-backs.

I agree with a short-shifter 1st. Besides getting the job done quicker it makes the car so much funner to drive.

 

Yeah get the shifter lol like everyone else says. That was my first mod too
