just a quick question here. i have been hearing alot about lt's and wanted to know if there worth it? kind of interested in them. i was looking at the pacesetter's at summit racing ( dont reccomend mac or bbk, etc..) and wanted to know what diff would it make. in terms of sound i mean. and would they fit even though my cats are off. someone told me they had to be welded on which is no biggy. if i got em i would;nt want a little bit of a diff i just want a noticeable diff plain and simple. what do you think?

They sound a lot more aggressive. And the difference between the MAC and pacesetters is that the MAC have individual flanges on them to the block while the pacesetter is one flange which makes install a little more difficult. And the MAC have flanges welded on the bottom to bolt up to your mid pipe. THe pacesetters have no flange.

As far as hp goes, you will gain a couple ponies, and it does a good job of shifting the power band up higher.

They are mostly for sound tho, and they sound pretty darn good.

Ok.

If you can find someone that can weld you could easily weld on flanges onto the pacesetters to get them to bolt up to the mid pipe.

That is what I am planning on doing to make the installation cheaper. I can weld, but don't have acess to a hoist so I don't want to weld the headers on under the car laying. So I am going to weld on flanges and then bolt them to a custom mid pipe.

new header gaskets would be a good idea. And longtubes are great, It roars good and I can tell in the mid to higher rpms it pulls like a champ... well compared to a cracked header
