Mach 1 Chin Spoiler Alignment

So my Mach 1 Chin Spoiler just came in the mail, and i was wondering if i should have the spoiler flush with the wheel wells (and having about a 1/2 inch gap between the front of the bumper and the chin spoiler), or flush with the front of the bumper (and having about 1 inch gap between the end of the chin spoiler and where the wheel well is)...

in the "autohow" installation video they say to have it flush with the wheel well for the "original mach 1 look, but i know not everyone does it that way...

as of this point im leaning towards the original mach 1 look with the spoiler flush with the wheel wells, but im still hesitant...

Opinions?

it's a mach 1 chin so it should be put on like a mach 1 chin. flush with the wheel well. flush with the front bumper makes it look 'unfinished' from the side and leaves a gap that just looks bad IMO. I put mine on flush with the wheel wells and it looks great.

mine is flush with the front, the gap on the side its hardly noticable

i got it used but its the original one.. you cant install it wrong because the holes are there from the factory. on the mach 1 at least.

talking about chin spoilers i have to get a new one.. mine is all ****ed up

my oem chin spoiler came from CJ Pony Parts and it first flush with the sides AND the front.

I battled with mine for like 3 hours no joke. The bastard would NOT line up. I had the whole fam damily in on my chin spoiler install. My dad accidentally drilled a hole through my bumper but it's hardly noticeable.

Questions: Means I already have the holes in my bumper from the one i have now, do you think it would be possible to grab one of the flush-fitting ones and still have it held in properly?

You think so? Hmm, I don't know man, I feel like the holes from the old spoiler and the holes from the new spoiler would interfere with each other if you get my drift.

It is supposed to line up flush with the front bumper edge; how else would it even make sense? Tons of stock car lips or even their actual bumper isn't flush at the wheel well. I need to see some pics where it's not flush with the front b/c that just sounds stupid.

its definitely not stupid. ill put up a picture in a minute.

I run an OEM lip BTW; it's not flush at the wheel well.
ehh whatever. i hated the little gap there was if it wasnt flush

I guess it just depends on the one you get.

How do you guys actually mount it? We started dead center, and then worked our way down one side, then the other.

You guys do it that way?
i duct taped it in place, having the edge of the spoiler perfectly flush with the wheel wells. i started drilling from both edges of the spoiler... the two wheel well drill spots and then i started moving in from there... this made it perfectly center
