Does the sound sound like it's coming from under the center console/dashboard or from the back of the car?

Sounds like it might be the transmission. I don't know because I haven't done extensive (or any) transmission work, but chances are that's where the sound is coming from. Only thing right under the console is the driveshaft right after the trans and I doubt its the DS.

Sounds like it might be occuring when car is changing gears. Is it auto or manual?

I haven't looked at it, I'll check in the morning, i'm just really concerned about this noise it's ready loud

My friend had a toyota camry (auto) that was doing what sounds like a similar thing last summer. We went under the car dropped the tranny pan and there was a bunch of metal shavings sitting in there. We took those out obviously then did a complete tranny flush and he hasn't had any issues since. Something to think about trying

 

Like previously said, take the pan off and see whats up. Put new fluid in with a new filter and try it out.

If you drop the pan yourself, get a large square shallow container to catch the fluid. Under all bolts except a couple so you can angle it down a bit to let the oil drain without getting tooo dirty.

Remove the bolts that secure it to the transmission. :icon_idea: I'd recommend you find someone to do the Jmod for you.

 

Bolts on trans pan are 10mm btw. And theres about 20 of them.
