So tonight, I get some 93 in the car, so I decide that I'm going to flash the race tune just to try it out. I go to flash the stock tune, and the Mustang's PCM goes into fault mode on me.
Car won't crank, fuel pump won't engage, tuner WILL NOT recognize the ECU.
I am using a Diablosport Intune, with a 2013 Mustang GT.
As a background, I have already cycled through my tunes in the previous week, from stock to performance, to stock to race, and had no problems at all.
Now all of a sudden when returning to stock it locks up on me.
I can only think of two things.
One, something happened that interrupted the tuning process, corrupting the tune file.
Two, my PCM is just a piece of ****.
All I know is, I am stuck in Kansas City, MO, and I am from Midwest City, OK.
I know my only big option is to wait until Monday, and get the car towed to Ford to have them reflash the PCM.
What I would like to find, is a solution that doesn't involve ford, so that I don't have to void my factory warranty.
I have tried disconnecting the battery, I have even tried disconnecting all fuses relating to the PCM and still no dice.
I am not currently with the car, I am back at the hotel about 15 minutes from where the car is parked.
Any idea are welcome, one idea I have, to try actually disconnecting the PCM from the car, and trying to tune it like that.
But I don't know which harness is to the PCM or where it's located.
Like I said, any help or ideas are welcome.
Diablosport Intune is the tuner, Bama Performance by AmericanMuscle is the tune company, 2013 Mustang GT is the vehicle. Computer code is BLV2

Before having the car towed in anywhere, call Bama first thing in the morning. I think they open at 8 eastern time, so it should give you time.

Yeah marc I plan on called both Bama and Diablo before taking it to Ford, Ford is definitely my last option, haha.

this happened to a friend of mine with SCT. He was able to get the car to a wifi spot, and have SCT remote into his PCM and fix it. Im not sure how Diablo works, but maybe they have something like that. Was your car hot when you changed tunes?

It would've been at normal operating, so yeah hot I suppose.
I've had a similar problem with an 02 GT I had awhile back, with SCT, they just remoted in and sent me a stock tune file.
Only difference this time is, the tuner will not access the ECU at all, whenever I try to "return to stock" or "flash tune" it pulls open the "determining Vehicle info" screen, and stays on that screen until it times out and displays "No ECU found"
I even tried plugging the programmer into an '11 GT and it pulled all the vehicle info up stat.
To add to that, I even tried plugging in an SCT X3 handheld earlier, and it will not pull my VIN, Manufacturer, ETC.
I think my PCM is bricked. But I still have no idea why it just **** all of a sudden.

Dtm'02GT,

I'm sorry to hear about your troubles! Did you have any luck Monday morning with this? Hope everything is being worked out.

Shane
Shane, I've contacted Diablosport, and they have issued me a call tag for me to send my PCM in for them to try to either recover or reflash it, will keep you guys' updated as to what happens.

I ended up having to rent a trailer and trailered the car back to OK where it's sitting now, I'm going to pull the PCM and send it off tomorrow, and we'll see what will happen.

Shane one question I have is, I did not receive a confirmation email for when I ordered my tuner, but I have the order #, you guys should be able to pull the order info and email me a receipt for the intune programmer that I ordered correct?

So as an update, in case anyone ever happens to have this problem(which I hope they don't, it sucks)
The solution to my problem was to pull the PCM out of the car(2 bolts and a couple of connectors) and ship it off to Diablosport, they sent me a shipping label and everything, packed it up and shipped it off.
Came back a day later, I installed it back in the car, got inside, car cranked and started no problem.
I dared to go ahead and flash my tune as I had my intake on the car and it started to lope and throw codes when I ran it initially on stock tune.
Tune flashed without a hitch and the car has been running just fine no problems since then!
I've heard a few theories as to why this happened.
Car was hot, I.e normal operationg temp
Door may have been opened at one point
My Nav system was powered on, no audio playing, climate off, just the screen was on possibly causing voltage drops and/or spikes.
But either way, it was an easy, albeit annoying as hell fix.
Hope this helps anyone who ever encounters this issue.

So it was dropping information because of the voltage drop and corrupting your files?

To be Honest, I have no clue what happened.
Those examples are just what I have heard can cause the issue, have no idea if any of them caused it or what.
I just know the solution worked.. haha.

Ah I gotcha! I keep my doors and everything closed and off so it doesn't use any additional power lol

[[/B]I spent thousands of dollars at American muscle from rims to performance parts to get a diablo intune tuner that blew my whole transmission within 3 weeks bama tuned blown transmission no previous problems with transmission no bs don't ever shop American muscle. Have to buy brand new transmission learned hard way could have almost got supercharger dont waste your money at American muscle and they wouldn't even post my blown transmission be good review for people considering tuner instead have all ones that say are the best bs don't shop American muscle trust me or learn hard way like I did
while not a fan of bama, I kinda doubt their tune blew your transmission. I am assuming you have a manual? If so...they can't(well don't) even change anything concerning the trans. Sounds like bad luck to me.

Agreed. I doubt American Muscle had anything to do with toasting a trans, auto or manual. If its a manual, well, a simple search will show the mt82 to not be all that great. The 6r80 auto on the other hand is, even in stock form, is pretty robust. There's no chance at all the driver had anything to do with it, ya think?

And to counter what you've said about am, I am a very happy customer of theirs. I've been buying from them since they first started up. The only time I haven't bought from them is when I've found a good deal on a used part or when I can buy them cheaper at work.

I hope u blow your transmission too from tune then maybe you ll learn
Easy newbie. First off- I have a mt82, so no amount of engine tuning will blow it. Hell, there's a good chance it will frag itself in a few months.

Second, as a newbie in these parts, you may not know what I do for a living. I'm a Senior Master Tech at a Ford/Roush dealer. What that means, is, if anything does happen, I'm covered. And don't you worry your pretty little head about warranty or not.

Lastly- we are not juveniles around here. We discuss things in an adult fashion. Unless we are in the daily chat, then, well, it's the daily chat.

I've never heard of a tune from bama killing a tranny not saying it didn't happen just saying I'd be surprised with it was actually that. Hell I ran one on my car for awhile without any problems and so has a handful of other people on this site.

Again not saying it didn't actually happen that's just my opinion. I know sometimes people on here defend am a little too much at least imo but it just doesn't seem like that would actually happen from your basic tune.
