i understand what he's talking about, but i don't think i cloud slap a guy in a fight. i'd feel like a bitch.
Not if you knocked him out. I've only seen it done once and the guy didn't get knocked out, but he did get slapped to one knee. Turns out that the guy he was fight was a woman's self defense teacher. I don't think that guy ever lived it down. He stopped going to clubs, or at least the ones I went to. LOL

i some how cant imagine getting knockd out by a slap...unless it was from that ape in the back ground lol
Why not? If you keep your hand steady and come down on it like he said you apply the same force as a punch over a larger area, but you cause the persons head to get a whiplash affect. That's what probably causes the knock out. Just like tapping someone on the jaw with a hook.

Times have changed methinks. lol

When I was younger, and in my fighting days, you fought a guy clean until he started fighting dirty. And to us, a slap was an insult, and if someone slapped you, all bets were off. I know, I've been slapped, and the slapper got an extra beating because of it.
If you can't fight a guy clean, with fists, then don't bother. Girls slap people. Not men.

When I fight there are no rules. I want to hurt them as bad as possible. I want them to know you don't **** with me. So I try to break bones, gauge eyes, do whatever. If I'm mad enough to fight...then I'm mad enough to hospitalize.

I fight to win as well, I've just never had to gauge eyes or break bones to win. A lot of fights I've been in I've actually found it easier to defend myself against a guy who is losing his marbles on me.

All a moot point now for me though, I'm pushing 40, so I don't do any fighting, I'm too lazy now. lol

I'm 100% with you on this one. I must have not gotten my street fighters hand book. I have one hell of a temper, but I can keep it in check. Once I've been pushed to violence all bets are off. My only goal is to inflict as much damage as humanly possible until I get pulled off or you don't move.

This is why there is so much more violence today in schools. Please don't take this as an insult. I come from a place and time where two guys could settle their differences with a 'normal' fight. Now, guys will beat the ever loving **** out of the other guy until he's not moving, and this just breeds paybacks, 3 on 1 or more beatings, etc.
I've been in fights where after you knock the other guy down, the fight is over, and you shake hands. It doesn't have to be so violent or vicious.

Just my 2 cents guys.

This is true I'd rather just choke a guy out to calm him down and walk away because I'm not allowed to use my hands in a street fight unless it's in self defense!

i don't believe in a fair fight. there's no such thing. cause as soon as the other guy feels like he's losing, here comes the shot to the daddy button. i wouldn't gouge someone's eyes unless i felt like i was fighting for my life. but i'm not a big guy, so i need every advantage i can get. i haven't gotten in a fight in a long time. i'm 28, so i guess i've gotten smarter about how to avoid such things. most of the time, it's pointless unless someone's actually trying to kill you or rob you or something. and a Kimber with 230 grain hydra-shocks acts as a great deterrent to someone looking to do me bodily harm.

Well I would love to live on that episode of Dawson's Creek too. A fight doesn't have to be so violent. Interesting logic. I've only had to really f*ck somebody up once or twice. The rumors do the rest. I punched a kid once and hit head hit a window and the window cracked. By Monday at school I had thrown the kid through the window with one punch. I'm not young. I'm 32 years old and it's been a good amount of time since I was in a good fight, but knocking a guy down then shaking hands? What is this seventh heaven? Like I said I have to be pushed to violence. If I have been pushed that far I don't give sh*t about you're physical health afterwards because you brought it on yourself. I've never needed to jump anyone. Today's kids are completely different than what I'm talking about. They do it as entertainment.

I can assure you brother, that my life wasn't Dawson's creek. I've been beaten by gangs, stabbed, been beat with a bat, kicked while I was on the ground, and had guns pulled on me. I never said I haven't been in a violent fight.
I've also had situations where I had a disagreement with someone that escalated in to a fight, and it didn't turn in to a free for all. After we were done, yes, we shook hands and that was it, it was done.
My point was based on what I read here and what I read in a lot of threads where fighting comes up. That quite often when the subject of fighting comes up, many guys feel the need to say 'I'll do whatever to whomever and put you in the hospital if you cross me, and if you angered me to the point of fisticuffs, you deserve it.' Many guys say this while they never do it, and some guys say it and do it. My point is if you get in a fight I think you're a much bigger man if you do just enough to win the fight and walk away.
Obviously, you have your own viewpoints on this, and I'm not saying you have to think like I do. I also specifically said in my prior post not to take it what I said as an insult, because it wasn't meant as one. This is just how I feel on the subject of fighting.
If we wanna cut right through all the bullshit though, a bigger man will avoid a fight if at all possible, even if he knows he can win.

First I'd like to say I haven't taken anything you said as a insult. Chat rooms are for chatting, and that's what we're doing. :wink Apparently you've had it much rougher than I have. I got jumped once, but I knocked the first guy out and the second guy got a jaw full of fist and the other two were very hesitant about coming forward after that. I've walked away from plenty of fights in my life. I'm not saying any time somebody looks at me croked I try to hosptalize them. It takes alot to get me to that point. I'm pretty sure when one of those situation that you mention above occured you weren't so worried about the other guys well being.

Ah ok that's cool. When I saw the Dawson's creek line I thought perhaps you had taken it as such.
(Can be hard to get context out of reading words on a screen, which is where I think a lot of net arguments start)
As far as me being worried about the other guys well being.... I don't remember.....lol Perhaps I've been punched in the head one too many times. lol. But seriously, no, not if I'm being jumped by more than one guy, although that only happened to me twice. The first time I was able to somehow beat them off and get away, the second time I don't even know who did it to this day. They hit me in the side of the head from behind and knocked me out cold, then kicked the crap out of me while I was out. Good times.
I had the good fortune of going to a high school in Toronto that was smack dab in the middle of a housing project. Yay.

Damn! Because of the great strip clubs I always thought of Toronto as such a happy land where I get to have fun and spend funny money. LOL

PS - I'm very upset to hear of the closing of club super sex, damn it!!![/b]

lol it definitely has great titty bars...not that I've ever patronized such a disgusting house of ill repute. That would be morally wrong.

And I had never heard of the club super sex, but The Runway 66 is a nice place.....or so I hear... *whistles*
