Well I finally confirmed that I do indeed have an issue.

The problem is when i'm cursing in either gears 2nd, 3rd, 4th or 5th, and I'm below 4k rpms between 2k and 3k rpms If I go 50% or 100% wot , rpms climb as if its not making power, when It gets to 4k exhaust note very noticeably changes and it seems as though it tightens up and its not making power then it reaches 5k then opens up.

So basically its like its not making power and being smooth like it used to be, I used to give 50% or 100% from 2k or 3k and it would be a smooth power climb all the way to 7k. I was thinking I was crazy and maybe its normal but I never noticed it then I drove a new found friends 12 5.0 and wow what a difference very smooth power.

I did a data log with sct's software but im not sure what to look at and whats normal . I'm not getting any knock during the issue and timing seems fine (?)

I don't know what it could be, spark related ? Fuel ? timing ? vct ?

Either ways it go's back into service hopefully this time they acknowledge the issue.

Not to clutter my own thread but I'm also having more issues with my tans after they replaced it.

In car video would be nice. My car starts off slow till after about 3k then it climbs steadily and shreads at about 5k

 Mother F****r !

First off I'm not modded never was my friend used his cable to log for me. I'm completely Stock !

Well guess my power issue was due to low oil pressure ! Yup thats right !

Was driving on the freeway when my car started to sputter, threw it in neutral and it died:mad: . Tried to restart it but it would just crank. Pushed it to a gas station, where I put more gas in even though it had a half tank, still didn't crank. So after 20 mins of f'in around I decided to check my oil.

!! Bone f***'in Dry!! Zero oil, At first I though I was just crazy and was reading the stick wrong, so I bought 2 quarts of 5-20 poured one in, and tried to start it, boom, stared right up. So I added quart after quart, untill it read normal, guess how many quarts it took ..........

7 mother f***'in quarts, yup it was empty. So the question is, where the F**k did my oil go in the past 5k miles ? I just pulled it out of the dealers service dept a week ago didn't they check the oil ? Guess not.. Car never smoked, car never leaked oil out so where did it go ? Dealer give no answers....

So after I put oil in and it started, I drove it a block away, parked it for 15 mins, and did a warm start and it started, figured my problem was gone for the no starting. Well I hung out with my family for 4 hours while my car was parked, come back and it doesn't start again, this time first I check the oil, and it has normal a oil level, nothing leaked out.

long story short, I had it towed home, it started the next day, I drove it to the dealer, and guess what the weird loss of power issue is gone, It was due to the low oil level, these must have a fail safe or something.

 Where did my mofo oil go, that the question I need answered !

My mustang is problem after f**k'in problem.

When I did my first oil change I had less then 6 Qrts of oil. Wtf right? Guess they just put less oil there out of the factory? Bullitt maybe you could clairafy? Or does the coyote motor burn oil?

I have heard from more than one person that some cars were under filled from the factory.

My car was shipped with a full 8 quarts. As for the reason for the lack of power- the VCT works off of oil pressure, so it makes since to me.

The oil didn't just vanish. I would have it looked into.

The Oil Bandit Got Me Too!

Checked my oil...none on the stick! Tried 3 more times thinking that maybe I am missing it. Nope...Freakin' dry! I put 3 quarts in before it showed on the stick. Now I am off to buy 3 more. How in the hell does this happen to a car with 3k miles on it? Where did it go...no smoke...no oil stain in the garage. Ford are you listening? I am pissed!

I have owned many cars in my life and have never seen this! Guess it's my ignorance for not checking it more frequently. I have checked it but its been a month or so.

Take it to your dealer and have a repair order opened up. What they should do is document the oil level and let you drive it a specified distance (say 500 miles) then check it again. If it has dropped any amount, then they have something to go on. There are tests for oil consumption, most involve manual compression and cylinder leak downs. Beyond that, it could require a teardown of the engine to see what's up.

If there is no loss of oil, could be it was always low? I have seen stranger things.

Ford cannot void your warranty if your engine is stock. Take it in, and have it looked at. Like I said before, it doesn't just vanish.

You know what? I took my car in for her first oil change yesterday. She was running fine, no issues, oil pressure was fine on the gauge, no oil on the floor anywhere. But when the guy checked the oil level, nothing even showed on the dipstick.....She's full now and running good. Guess we'll have to keep checking the level regularly.

Took it to the dealer today...I will need to drop it off this week for an oil consumption test. They will also be evaluating my paint as it is thin over 40% of the car. You can see right through it direct sun light. Beginning to regret buying a Mustang.

wile_e_coyote,

wow, imagine my surprise when I had to put in 7 quarts.

But now my car sometime just wont start, just cranks, and cranks.... Or sometimes starts with a low rough idle and dies. So far this is the 3rd time, dealer told me all is fine, ford tech said all is fine.

more to come....

Everyone check your oil oil !!! no light come on to warn or anything the msg center either!
