You said its not a popularity contest but then you said steve never leaves this section so people dont know him. Thats my point, its ride of the month, they dont need to know him.

He has a 800+hp drag race car that runs 9s. Its the fastest car on this site and he should have walked away with that IMHO.

Maybe im wrong but thats how i look at it. I mean, hey I didnt vote for him, i voted for myself :) But come on. Thats a ride that should be featured and recognized.

I mean, to be honest, yea I could go in the 2v section, but to say what. Its a different car from the ground up. I would just be speculating and chatting.

Just my opinion brother.

...I hear you Rich...

again, if he doesn't leave this section...I'm not following how he should then get nominated if he's not known? Us mods should put all the applicable names up for each month? That defeats the purpose of the contest- to make people get out of one section of the forum. How many members are on this forum? How many cars should we mods 'pick' for each category each month? How much **** will we then take from the members we inevitably miss? How much time are we supposed to spend over and above what we already do to run ROTM?

How did I become a moderator of this forum, Rich?

I didn't know any of the original core group here. So it wasn't that. In fact if you talk to some of them, they probably don't like how I post. All the dick jokes, stupid pictures, etc, but guess what man.

My 22k posts are pretty legit. Even if you say half of them are jokes, I have over 10k posts. Why? Because even before I became a moderator here, I loved the forum so much, that I constantly visit every section, reading every thread that I think I can help with. If I see a guy in the 96-98 section asking for help and he's getting no answers, I will spend some time researching, and gather up what help I can and relay that to him. I've written tutorials on a couple of things. I put together suggestions for stickies. I got involved.

Now I'm not saying you or anyone has to do that- obviously everyone has different amounts of time and ways they can spend their time here.

But Rich. It is not up to us to make sure every qualified member is nominated for ROTM. It's just not. The whole idea is that people will see that and go "****, I would like to have my Mustang on the main page of MM and be ROTM......maybe I'll start checking out the rest of the forum and getting my **** out there".....and this is done by having your peers nominate and vote for you.

It ain't done by moderators making sure everyone who qualifies is nominated.

Ride of the month.....guess what. YOU are the main part of that ride. If people don't know you, they ain't gonna know your ride. That doesn't make it a popularity contest. That insinuates that people are winning just by virtue of being good friends with people. And that doesn't happen.

Just don't see how it's our job to make sure everyone is known....it's impossible....especially for a friendly contest. Damn, we put the ROTM in the most active section of this forum. Not our problem if you're never leaving one section.

He was nominated. Im not talking about this month i'm talking about the ROTM last month when it was drag race cars. He was in it he just didnt get many votes.

And it only takes 2 votes to nominate someone. If the 2005 people payed attention the nominations would be there. Truth be told i was gonna make a thread in here when the nominations were going on becuase there are plenty of 500rwhp 3vs, steve could be in it again, emay, 05kb, "nasty" with his fake dyno. :p grey. I mean we didnt even get to 10 cars this month.

I didnt make that thread though, figured 07s chances were better. n/a blood runs deep.

Besides acmllr kicked me outta the 2v section a long time ago. :sorry
