I am wondering how you guys routed your belt with no a/c or p/s. I dont want a delete pulley. I know I'll run the v6 ribbed pulley on the tension but what do I know about the P/S pulley being gone? I cant find any good info on google. Any ideas or pics would be great :D

Thanks MM,

Scott

Right? **** that!

Because you only have to turn onto the exit road at the end of the track.

Scott, that's the belt routing that I found as well. The belt size is a little up in the air right now, but somewhere around 60". If I get mine finished before you do, I'll give you the belt size, but if you get yours done first, let me know.

At that point, might as well completley gut the car because theres really no point in driving it on the street. I remember my belt tossed and it was VERY hard to turn the wheel.

not to mention you loose your power assisted brakes. but hey, if its really a race car, whatever. if you are gonna drive it on the street even once, its a horrible idea, nobody can "get use to that" haha its just undriveable. You cant maneuver fast enough to avoid an accident.

Exactly. Theres no brakes without the hydrboost pulley. I wouldnt even think about bringing it on the street. Just my opinion

Tossing the belt, and purposely getting rid of them are completely different guys. With a manual steering rack and the manual brake adapter, the effort is considerably less than what you felt when the belt was gone.

I grew up driving cars with no power steering, and then joined the Army, where the 2.5 Ton trucks didn't have power steering, so it's not that bad to me.

True..What about the brakes?

The brakes are a little tougher, but Maximum Motorsports offers a new brake pedal with a revised pivot point that's supposed to make it a lot easier on you to push them in. Just taking advantage of that whole geometry and leverage thing. That's the setup I'm going with, along with the Aerospace brakes, which are designed to be used in a manual setup.

Okay makes sence. I didn't even think of a manual steering rack. But honestly, like I said at that point might as well gut the car. Driving on the street like that is dangerous. I would think anyways, I've never touched with a manual steering rack

thanks for the help guys! lol nope pure street car...for now :D

Like Bullitt said...the man. rack helps and you put more toe into the front wheels. The brakes I hear arent that bad. Im not worried about it one bit lol The benefits out gain the losses. That engine bay is sex :drool All I want it my turbo, alt, fuse box and catch can in there. Lighter makes me have to less power and go faster as you know...and easier to work on!

Yeah, mine is getting lighter everyday. It's fun when you have access to scales, seeing how light the car is getting over time.

When mine weighed in at 2780, the guy said that's the lightest that he's ever seen a street driven SN95/New Edge car. When I told him I still had about 150lbs to go, he chuckled and said WOW.

thats sick man lol idk if I will do everything you have. But I'd like to get 3150 or so w/o me...figure that and the power I overall want will be pretty quick...I am trying to find the faster legal(licenced) 2v 4.6L out there and go for that title.

anyone know?

Just get an electric water pump and ditch the belt completely at the track. And recharge the battery between runs. I'm still loving the ice cold AC in my car.

he said it's not quite street legal but they drive in on the street. I know I wont have cats but idk what he means by not quite street legal.

But I mean licence plates and what not. I have seen that vid a few times lol
