ive had my tuner for 5 days so im still learning but anyone with a sct tuner loose gas mileage on the street tune?? on the performance tune the gas mileage stayed about the same...

and is the race tune too hot of a tune to run as a daily driver?

What octane gas are you running on Street Tune versus Race tune?
I know my car is tuned for 87 Octane right now, and I get 18city/27highway, but if I put 91 or 93 in it right now, my mileage would go down due to the timing not being optimal for higher octane.

Street performance and race tunes are for 93 since its pretty accessible around here.

Hmm maybe I just got some bad gas or something cause I got almost 50 more miles on the performance tune than I did street tune.

Without seeing the tune file, it'll be difficult to answer that question.

race tune=max hp not max mpg
street tune= best for mpg but not for max hp
That isn't particularly true. The tune that creates the most power (with certain parameters aside) is the most efficient tune. These canned tunes just bump up the ignition advance as you go from your typical 87 octane "street" tune to the typical 93 octane "race" tune. For a stock or bolt on car they often net a little power increase, but being able to tune the car in person with a WBO2 is a far better approach. As far as fuel efficiency is concerned, there is quite a bit that can be done in the tune to improve mileage.
