Ticking/knocking noise

04 Mach I, 4.6 DOHC, 36k miles, stock. After the engine is warmed-up for a few minutes, it develops a ticking/knocking type noise that sounds like it's coming from the driver side chain cover. I replaced the guides & tensioners but no change in the noise. Went back in and inspected/cleaned the oil passages in the head, the feed tube & passages to the tensioner but it all looks OK. I even ran the motor with the left valve cover removed & listened with a stethescoop by all the lifters & springs. The the noise still seems to be coming from the frt of the engine. The oil pressure is good. No broken valve springs, loose lifters or rocker arms.
What an I missing here?? Any help is greatly appreciated!

It prolly your timing chains. I had the same noise comin from my car and what happened was the tentioner locked up so the chain would "slap"(hence the knock or tick). Take off your valve cover and if you can pick the chain up off of the cam gear you know what it is. Don't it soon before it eats through your oil pump. When the chain gets loose it eat through the front of the pump.
