I have a dumbass question for anyone willing to answer. Truly speaking, installing a s/c on a bone stock gt, what else really needs to be done to the engine to handle the increased power? I think I have read that if the horsepower gets up above 470 that there are some added dangers to the engine without certain modifications? I know there has been quite a bit of talk on s/c our mustangs but I am high maintenance and have special needs when it comes to this stuff:D

07BlkGT, The parts you are referring to when the engine gets above 470RWHP is a forged rotating assembly. (crank, pistons, rods, and all other periphery) I would even consider 470 a bit dangerous on a stock assembly unless it's driven like a granny. If all you're asking about is the standard 400-450RWHP supercharging kit, the answer to what else needs to be done to the engine is nothing besides what comes with the kit. Personally, I am a huge fan of the forged rotating assembly and that is definitely on my not too distant to do list. Hmm.. if only money was no issue....
 
the rods are the weakest link, I ran my car for 2 years with 470 rwhp and 502 rwtq with no problems. It is a hit or miss thing because some cars have blown up with 420 rwhp and others are still living with 500+ rwhp

That is partially due to the driver mod. nice #'s

You mean I could blow this thing up??? J/k but if it does then it does. I fully am aware of what is at risk. I am elated at the power of what 1 mod on these 3 valves can do compared to the 5.0 stuff I used to play with prior.
I hope it lasts for a while and I don't plan on hitting the track maybe twice this summer. I'll admit I will put it thru its paces but even things like powershifting on the street will not happen. I just love the torque of this thing and it's sorta fast and it's not boy racer exhaust loud.
I am ata aloss to why anybody would buy a diffearnt kit though....this thing rocks!!!!

The crank is already forged. its the rest of the stuff.
 
you're making great numbers.. i have to agree there. You'll have to let us know how your time at the track goes... I am definitely interested to hear about nuking some hondas. These 3 v's are certainly something.. extremely responsive to mods.. got to love 'em.
 
well I have a p-1sc on my 05 with the stage 2 kit and am going in this month for a dyno tune. The car is an auto and they were looking at 450rwhp or more, it is normal for these cars. Just 8-9 psi on my car. They said they could get more, but I don't want to push the envelope and hurt anything.
