I was in 4th nailed it and it dropped to third ,we were even right to the end, thats when he pulled on me, running 20 pounds that had to give him ,another 25-30 rwhp then stock , with my little mods i was proud hahahaah:cool:
4.10S would have pulled you back further . . . there slower after 90 than 3.73s so im sure your stock gears helped you on top

I drove a 2007 sti before they made them stupid looking. They are set up and dialed in perfect, and it pulled like hell with 4 people in the car and the a/c on, in 5th at 2700rpm. But they are still a 13 second car stock. But the second you modify anything really they shoot up. Plus think of what we have to go through to modify our cars. All they have to do is get a timer and boost controller. But in the end power for power the rear wheel drive will beat all wheel in a 1/4. So pick your poison. I haven't raced one, but i've raped 2 evo8's. Maybe I can stop by the target parking lot and get one to race me.

I was raped by a Evo8 at the track... it was ugly... I think I was still in the 1/8 by the time he crossed the whole 1/4...

wait... what... that doesnt make logical sense
Its incrorrect but a common misconception among people. shorter gears dont slow you down at any speed. They help everywhere. You would top out sooner but thats it. they help after 90 even more then in the low end actually. For anyone how has ever hit fifth in this car they know what i mean. Fourth was no peach either with the 3.55s. dog.

STi's are fast, especially modded ones. There is one that frequents the track I go to running 12.7's. The problem is due to being a 4 banger they're low on torque so launching can be tricky. If he doesn't launch it just right, he'll go from 12.7 to 13.7. Our cars are a lot more forgiving at launch due to our torque. If I feather my clutch just right I'll get 13.10's regularly, if I miss the feather and bog it a little I might run a 13.2.

I've seen so many Subies and Evo's bog on the start at the track and run 14's it's comical.

There is one out here at my track that runs 12.1 just about every time. He is heavily modded, and has dished out a lot of cash. I can beat him every time off the line and then he pulls on me every time. I am going to have to do something next year about this.

Yea Richard, the turbo was definitely playing with you haha...I have driven 600+ hp mustangs and none of them felt quite like my fathers 997 turbo...
Oh i know what a 911 turbo can do. I have driven them on a road course. I dont know about saying a 600hp mustang cant run on the highway with a stock 911 turbo though.

its about what 450hp and like 3000 plbs. Dont know dont follow them much any more.

Scratch that i was thinking of the race car. Its 480hp at 3500 plbs. If you can run on the highway that that in a 600hp stang bro, you better check that dyno ;)

Yeah dude don't feel bad, good run.Anybody, what does JDM mean i have seen this on some of these car's plates here in va.STI plates.
Ha thats one of my buddys... Not the ones you have been seeing but up here in NY his plate is JDM ASASSIN... He has every upgrade from JDM possible.. Shits out... I am not a subie guy though...

Really hard cars to launch at the track...

thats false, sti's come with plenty of torque. modded ones alot of times have more torque then HP. the car can easy bog down if it isnt launched correctly, it has nothing to do with its torque.

+1

The reason thay suck so much if they bog is cause of the AWD and the fact they fall out of boost and it takes a moment for it to spool back up.

I didnt say faster than a 600hp mustang (519rwhp) but it felt stronger and waaaayyyy smoother...the technology is unbelievable
