Great Street Tires!
Going to go with a larger MT drag radial in the back soon though, 305/45/18.

I haven't worn a set of tires out yet on this car... i keep changing them lol. Just going off of what customers cars are getting. average is in the 20 thousand range.

Thats crazy. I drove the pirellis for 40k, then the nittos for 40k, neither were all the way done when i took them off. I still use two pirellis on the front sometimes.

Guess im lucky :) camber off to boot.

Why would you put a 45 tire in the front and a 40 in the back, just curious? I think the gt500 does it, but didn't know why. I'm looking into getting wheels and tires, so I thought I would ask. Also even if your car is lowered shouldn't the camber be able to be adjusted so there isn't any inside wear or at least make it very minimal? My car isn't lowered yet, so I have no experience with this.

Its to keep the height of the tires the same. A 255/45 and a 285/40 are within 1 mm of sidewall height. The camber on these cars are set. The only way to really adjust them is through the use of camber adjustment plates or a castr/camber upper strut mount.

the aspect ratio (40 or 45) represents a percentage of the cross section (285 or 255) of the tire. That number is the height of the sidewall of the tire so a 285/40 will be pretty close to 255/45 in height due to the higher cross sectional width of the tire.

40% of 285 = 114
45% of 255 = 114.75

Therefore the height difference of the 2 tires is approximately 1.5mm if you sit them next to each other. 1.5mm = 0.0590551181 inches assuming both tires are on the same size rim.
It may have been 15years ago that I was a tire sales/installer but I still remember the math. lol

rich thanks for posting a pic of my car for me! saved me some time lol..i have nitto 555s, seem to last so far, i drive the car pretty hard sometimes, and there a great tire for daily driving if thats what your looking for.

Margarita girl this car will probably never see snow after this year, and if it does I'll keep the stockers.

Would a 255/45 be the same diameter as a 285/40? I don't want the front tire to look odd and be bigger. But with 40s all around the front may look too small right?
The 285/40's are a smidge smaller in diameter than the 255/45's. With the Mustang sitting so high in the back, the visual is good. Here's a tire size calculator that will give you a better idea of total diameter over stock:
Tire Size Calculator - tire & wheel plus sizing

Tires brands run differently too. The Nitto tend to be slightly smaller than other brands so when looking at the tire size range for a certain rim, keep that in mind.

The Toyo T1R is a summer tire, not all season, and not for snow. (Wide tires are also not for snow.) I can't rotate mine but that's OK. I have a Subaru for the winter months so my nice chrome trim rims and wide tires are tucked away safe and sound right now. :yes

Many in salt/sand/snow areas have a winter set of rims/tires and a "good set." Our local Town Fair Tire will switch them for you every season for free if you buy the tires from them.
Lots of options! :D

Juco one of my concerns was not being able to rotate them, but technically I can just switch the tires on the rim at work if I wanted to. But I'm sure a lot has to do with how you drive too.

Rich my coworker is gonna get me a price on the supercars too. But if I wind up with Nittos, hopefully I share your luck with the lifespan lol.

I stopped at the Ford dealer on the way home today to take a gander at the GT500 and the height difference is inperceptible as far as I'm concerned.
