Hey guys I'd like to know in simple terms are caster camber plates necessary If purchasing lowering springs? I only have minor mods and I'm trying to get rid of that fenderwell gap. If you use the springs without them what harm could be done? Anything major?

what exactly do the caster's do for your car?

because i lowered my car about 6 months ago and then abour 3 months ago ready that u NEED to install these at the same time. but i havent noticed anything wrong with my car since i lowered it?

it basically depends on the amount of drop you do. if you do 1.5" of drop or more i would HIGHLY suggest them. Without them your alignment will be off and you will have negitive camber (your front tires will be tucked in) it will effect your handling and also chew your tires up prematurly and make them wear uneven. If you only going with a 1" drop or so a good alignment shop should be able to correct the neg camber using the stock parts

Depends on what type of springs you purchase. Also, I have seen some cars need it while others don't with idnetical springs. It's a good idea to get them either way.

I bought the Eibach Sportline Kit, and I had to have them to get within tolerance.

Check the insides of you tires for wear, if there is none, then your car may not need them, but an Alignment is still required just to be sure.

i've been checking the tires and havent seen anything wrong with them... and the alignment was done at that time. so i think the lowering is alright for now haha

Some say yes, some say no, some say depends on the amount of drop. Im gonna say it depends on the drop. Im using sportlines w/o any cc plates. When I aligned it I was able to get it to -1* camber on each side. Plenty good for me and the tires wear fine. No use in spending $200+ on something you dont need. So id say order them and then install them if needed if not sell them or send the back. Or do the springs, and then order some if needed.

This depends on your overall budget :yes

Leaving your front wheels with some neg camber, as mentioned above, will help in cornering with your ride. It can also be hard on the inner edges of tires, depending on how much. I was running about 2° with my CO's and drove tires hard, so I got even wear.

Hey Guys Can You Give Me Some Sound Advice In Regards To What's The Best Mod I Can Get For 500-800 Bucks. 800 Is The Max My Budget Will Allow Right Now And That's Including Any Labor. My Current Mods Are 18 Inch Bullits, 4:10 Gears, Slp 2's , And I Just Got My Sct Sf3 Tuner And Mgw Short Shifter In The Mail. Trying To Gain A Little More Horse Power If Possible. Thanks In Advance.....i Know Alot Of You Guys Know Your Sh*t !!! So I Trust And Respect Your Replies.

An o/r midpipe might help you out some it fits in your budget & its easy to install yourself. Maybe a tb/plenum combo & drop in k&n or amsoil air filter too? You wont see any sort of significant gains but it should help you with throttle response and such and once again its something you can do yourself with ease.

Please stop the bickering on the CC plates. I have been over this a million times. They make your strut mounts stronger, and give you better adjustment of the Caster and Camber. The drop amount that makes them required is somewhere around 2". However, that depends on your car, some cars are a little farther off, and require them at the 1.5" drop range, but this is pretty rare. A good shop will have no trouble aligning your car at 1.5" drop.

CC plates are REQUIRED, bar none, for Coil Overs and drops OVER 2".

Any less than 2" is dependan't on personal preference and your car's situation.

Coil Overs place added stress on your strut mounts, so you need the added strength that the CC plates give.

This is all answered in my Guide. Please read it EVERYONE.

$200 for C/C plates is outrageous! I think I payed $85 for mine.....I got them from MAC. You don't need crazy awesome, name-brand C/C plates. As long as they correct my alignment who cares.

My car with sportlines required them. But, I've seen several that didn't. Just do what AJM says, buy if needed, if not, save the cash.

No one has suggested getting CO's and were all talkin' about 1.5" or less (that phantom line of do/don't need). The OP has been made aware of the issues that can/may arrise to determine necessity of CC plates. ALL have said he should if he goes 1.5"+ drop. Nearly all have said it is a good idea anyway, reguardless of amount of drop. I have not because pros/cons have already been discussed in MAJOR detail. I just threw in some benifits to neg. camber to help understand benefits a little further.

No need to pimp your guide as I do it all the time :D
