What rear end is optimum with a supercharger?

:D

3.73s if you plan on upping the power on your car anytime soon. Its a good all around gear. Because everyone knows your gonna up the power, its not a question of IF but WHEN. Once you start making HIGH numbers, 4.10s just aren't going to be fun with a street car. Especially with a roots/twin screw design

I really appreciate the consistency of this forum, I can leave for two to six months at a time and when I come back it's like I never left, the same topic is still being debated. :tomato

do you own a supercharger? ;)

I like my 410s...when i am on it hard I get maybe one and half seconds in first...but how often do I get on it that hard and I have 29" tall tires out back to compensate a little.

It really depends on what your using the car for. For drag racing, I found 3.73 works real well but it was because when I went through the traps, I was peaked out for cam's range. For just around town with a supercharger you don't need alot of gear, hell you can anhialate the tires with the factory gear. 4.10s would be okay if you could get it to hook up and you were running alot of camshaft and going through the traps within the cam's range.

seems like a lot of the guys at S197 have 4:10s...

Mickey, I noticed that too. I don't post a lot over there, just read. I was going to point this out in the other thread while you and procharger were quibbling (is that a word?), but it seems like all those guys over there like the 4.10's and most over here like the 3.73's. Just shows there is no right or wrong on this endless debate, just personal preference. I'm putting 4.10's in with my planned whipple.

No offense to the guys here, but the S197 forum has a lot more guys that race their cars....4:10s for a reason

Ken and werent "quibbling" in the least. We agreed that anyone is gonna do what they wanna do and there is no right or wrong answer. I have noticed that people on this forum like to jump on the train with whats popular in a thread...if the first 5 people in the thread give the same answer, almost no one is gonna throw out a different one

Yeah I noticed that they tend to be a little more extreme, (don't know if that's the word I'm looking for) over there. I know you guys weren't arguing I was just trying to expand my vocabulary and use the word quibbling.
