Well I should be going this weekend to pick up a bare 05+ aluminum block. Got a good idea on a set of rods, and a crank, still yet to decide on a set of pistons. (If anyone has any suggestions, it would be appreciated)........anywho back on topic. This will be a fairly high comp. motor, not too much though. 10.5.1 or so. Already have the heads taken care of, along with the Comp SPR stage 3 cams, springs, phasers, etc. What bearings are most people going with these days?? I'm pretty sure I can get Factory Ford stuff for about the same price if not cheaper than any aftermarket, BUT if the aftermarket bearings are better, thats what i'll go with. (talking about mains and rods)........all the gaskets and stuff I get pretty cheap. Also looking into the MMR 3v oil pump kit. Yeah, yeah, MMR sucks, I know.

If anyone has any input or questions let em' rip............I'm always looking for ideas. This will be a "budget" build, and maybe a healthy dose of nitrous. Ok scratch that "maybe", it WILL have nitrous.

****............can they guarantee they will have deep enough valve reliefs?!?!?

I might be stuck with factory compression then..............but thats no fun lol.......Ok Rich i'll save up some damn money. It will be a while, i'm getting the block, crank, and rods first. Then the slugs. And rings.

What rings should I run guys???

a ring made for nitrous, and I used factory bearings since I am sure has spent the R/D on bearing wear for these motors.

maybe a top chrome ring or something that will handle the cylinder pressure.

ok good info KB...........Are there any specific brands that I should look for and watch out for??

I was also thinking about using the Ford bearings as they seam to last a pretty damn long time in a factory motor............A good friend of mine did suggest clevite77s though. I guess i'll just have to price them out to make my decission.

hmmmmmmmmmm.............i'm gonna hold you to that sir:shiftyeyes

I guess JPC and them would know what they are doing lol..........MAN i'm just worried about spending alot of money on a custom piston and then having to turn around and machine the reliefs deeper.........gives me the creeps just thinking about it.

ALSO, does anyone know a good place to send your stuff and have it balanced??? Maybe KB can chime in since im closer to his area also. BUT I wont mind shipping it somewhere. I just dont want joe blow machine shop and hardware store doing it.
