Never cease to amaze me man...
I try :D

I give credit to this forum. When I joined back in 2007 this car was completely stock and I had no idea what the aftermarket was for a mustang. I have learned everything here.

Hell, I did not even know how to read tire info before I joined here.

This site gives alot to the people that stick around... but it has a price... Sanity... you have people like Zip lurking around :tomato

you should paint the bolts that connect to the housing on the cai either black or red. just my 2 cents :). looks amazing though. Kind of makes me want to do a black/red theme on my engine bay.

I must give a +1 on that.
How did you get the "spectre" on there, is that like a sticker or something?
I was wondering the same thing.

Also Z, why did you relocate your drop in to have your filter sitting in your engine bay?

Its a sticker that came with the filter

It was just a preference thing. I like the look better than just having the tube disappearing into the fender.

The throttle response is acually better after doing this. I suppose the larger (and cleaner) filter helped, plus with a shorter overall distance for the air to travel. The exhaust has a slightly different tone to it as well. Hard to belive that just chanign the layout of my CAI would do that, but it did.

Good job man! I also have the same CAI from AM and i painted mine black. I wanted to paint the couplers but i wasnt sure if the paint would chip off so i left it alone. Ill have to paint my coupler now haha. You used Duplicolor i am guessing?

Yes. I used Vinyl and Fabric paint for the couplers since they are a rubber. Closest thing I had for it. You still have to be carefull with it and not bend/twist the coupler alot. I also heated the coupler extreamly then added the first coat, then warmed it up again for the second coat. I also made sure the paint can itself was warm to the touch.

These types of paints seem to work much better when applied to a hot surface.

Im going to repaint it the same color, and paint the couplers to blue? maybe.. since my upper intake will be black soon. You can see i have a black coupler (came black) and the blue one which i didnt paint.

Looks good, but would really pop if it had more of a gloss look to it IMO.

Ya, i need to repaint it lol.. First i painted it blue anodized then when i painted black i was rushing to get it done because i had somewhere to be.. So it didnt turn out completely the way i wanted it to. This weekend ill spend all day on it.

Looks badass man...does it give you a better throttle response?

i always wanted to do this but i wanted to see how it looked first

im must say i like it and i might try it later on :D

I painted my CAI too and i think it will look good with a red filter

But do you think the bigger filter would be better?
