Hello all, not looking to flame but looking for feedback. I loaded some custom tunes into my 05 GT and the two most important ones to me are the most sluggish in the low RPM range. Three tunes, 87 dailey driver, 91 street and race and 91 race. The 87 tune is perfect, a little more thump to the dailey grind. But the other two have me worried, there is no power in the low range RPMs and my transmission pings when under a load (automatic) Even more so with the race only tune. Anyone else experience this with a "canned" custom tune?

I would say only go to the big three, Tillman, VMP and Brenspeed. My tune blew my expectations out of the water. It proved to be very strong on the 1320.

Sounds like you're an auto? If so go contact American Muscle and talk to them about your issue. They've supposedly got an updated tune for the old Bama tunes (they bought Bama's tuning techs and business name). Supposed to really help shift response on the autos.

Thanks for the reponses, I do plan on contacting AM and Bama. I went with Bama because I heard they were the best at tuning the Auto Trans.

I started this thread to feel out if it was supposed to be running this way(which I hope not) or if I do have a problem.

Of course the little voice in my head is telling me "I told you to take it to a Dyno"

with a stick rather than auto I got bama's tunes also. Never had one problemand ran consistent high 12.8's. It's pretty normal for a mail tune to need some perfecting in an auto since all these cars are a bit different

Bama has a good name. They have been tuning the 3-valves since day one. You already paid once so I suggest having them reissue the tunes free-o-charge.

As long as you know Doug S isn't doing the tuning.

Tillman's isn't offering mail order tunes since Chris R doesn't work there anymore.

Yep Chris is at Bama/American Muscle... whatever you want to call it. He updated my 91 race tune. I like the new version better. Regarding Bama's original tunes, I don't have any problems with them.
