Cutting the springs on my gt today. well. I guess 1 spring..
I can't get the bolt out on the passenger side. I've tried almost everything. the ****er won't come out. I need my car for saturday and i'm too broke to afford ****.- This is for the lower control arm bolt.. Is there another way of getting the spring out?

I'm considering just cutting it and buying a new one. or grind a bit off the threads..
Help, i guess?

Get some PB blaster spray and let it soak for like 10 to 15 min it works wonders I used it when I was putting in my suspension mods and exhaust. You will be amazed at what one bolt and nut that has had it applied to it and one that doesnt will. Also im guessing this is for the rears correct due to the rake your car has and because you dont remove the control arms in the front to take out the springs.

You could also unbolt the strut and drop the whole rearend...

i've tired soaking it in liquid wrench and such.

I've cut the one spring and i've done lowering springs for the front. just stuck on the one passenger side rear spring.

It seems i might just drop the whole rear end on that side.

I'm pretty sure the bushings shot also. cause the bolt just keeps turning and turnings and not going anywhere.

Liquid wrench sucks get the pb blaster I know what im telling you mike :) Also yeah you can just drop the rear that also another option when it didnt work for me though (it has for others) it was still to tight to pull out the springs I had to remove the LCA's to get the springs out. Also a cheater bar might help or a 1/4" breaker bar man thats what I used

hmmm... thats weird.

^ if he has the LT rear off already im sure he knows you have to use a box wrench to hold the other end:)

had the same thing happen to me today! mine was on the driver side tho. The bolt that connects the lower control arm to the axle housing. if thats the one your talkin about. Take a hammer and hit the bolt all the way back in as if you were installing it.

then hit it back out, back in and out. After that get a medium size sledge hammer (no not a 4ft sledge) and get the bolt from the driver side, and use it to drive the passenger side bolt out. I think the threads are gettin hung up on the rubber bushings.

damn son. I'll reread this whole thread in the morning. So it'd be awesoem if everyone can just throw out some more ideas to try. It'll be greatly appreciated. With a rep too haha.

ok the bolt ur talking about seized to the metal sleeve it sits in. like everyone says try pb blast and if it doesnt work try heating the bolt and housing with a torch for a lil while. dont melt the bushing tho. when its hot either try impacting it off or grap a hammer and screwdriver and smack that bitch out. hope u get it done. n btw u unbolted the shocks too right?

lol yeah, that was my dumb moment... thats why i edited my post

you should have never messed with the control arm in the first place...

its ten times easier to just disconnect the shocks and then let the axle droop to get the spring out. if you have stock springs then you will need a little prying but they will come out. easy enough to where you don't have to post a new thread :D

Prolly sized in there. Get a decent hammer and hit it back and forth spraying pb or similar on each end as you go so itll work its way up into the bushing sleeve. Once youre ready to knock it out all the way and the threaded end is flush to where you cant go anymore use a punch or cheapy screwdriver.

Everyone said what to do, ph blaster/lube job work great soak it let it sit then hit it with a hammer a few times.

I don't know if you can grind/cut the head off and hit it through on your application. (not familiar with car)

Sounds like someone may need to bite the Bullitt and pick up some new LCA's :yes If the bushing/sleeve is spinning around within the arm, sounds like it may be the time.

Jazzer :)

I ran into this problem when changing my LCA, that bolt on the passangers side was siezed in the bushing, ended up cutting it out.

But you don't need to take off the LCA to change the spring, if you unbot the bottom of the strut and disconnect the quad shock, you can lower the axle far enough where it will come out with very little force.
