Whats the benefits of a EGR delete and how is it done? Looked into the how to section but its not in there. :sorry

cosmetics is the only real gain. EGR only works while cruising or under the lightest of throttle applications. Might notice a 1-2 mpg drop.

BUT, if you want to remove it, you need a block off plate for the plenum, a cap for the manifold port. Cap the vacuum lines and unbolt the egr valve and dpfe sensor.

Cleans up the engine bay and also will help keep the intakes cleaner since its not running the unburnt gasses back into the upper plenum. Doubt you will feel any seat of the pants gains. Dont forget you will need to have the egr stuff turned off with a tune also to avoid the check engine light.

You will need it turned off by a tune or handheld to prevent the CEL I believe only b/c the sensors. You can have your tuner email you your existing tune with the egr turned off. I don't think there is a HP gain but you have to figure everything counts. No more exhaust gasses going back in the intake. I have a delete but I can't get to my bolt right now b/c of my long tubes and not knowing what size bolt it is n don't have the right size long wrench. sucks. haha

Anyone know what size the egr tube going to the manifold is? Looks like its gonna be a pain to get to.
22mm oil pan plug from autozone is what I have in the manifold, but its a bitch (understatement) to get the tube out of the manifold took me about 2hours before I got it off, you can also use a cap but I dont know the size !

I heard a 5/8" flare cap will work, but crawling under there and seeing how hard the tube is to get to, keeps making me put it off. Plus im not sure which vacuum lines to block off.

the threads on my header where the EGR tube connect to got cross threaded and I had to snip it off and weld it shut so rather than trying to remove it and redo it correctly I said screw it and just did the delete. Ford actually makes a kit that comes with a cap for the header and the plate + gasket and screws for the plenum. I orderd it from tousley ford.

Here's a photo of it, it comes satin I obviously painted it

there really is no need to get rid of the egr system. it does look nicer getting rid of it but it does serve some purpose. most people dont belive this but it cools down cylander head temps. the valve closes once you go wide open throttle. if you are sc it is worth getting rid of cause they do tend to leak boost. i capped the header bung by cutting the pipe so i could slide it off the nut, then i just replaced the pipe with a penny so it would close the hole. then you need a block plate like pictured above for the intake plenum

As far as the delete for the intake, it wouldn't be hard at all to make. But the Cap to put on the Header/exhaust manifold is where I would like to know what is the size and thread spacing is in order to get one. It looks to be standard pipe thread but I am not sure. Does any one know?

if you shut it off with a tuner there shouldn't be any reason it will fail emission testing. Here in Ohio they just hook up the car to a scanner and test the system. If the computer doesn't throw anything back, then your good. I don't know how they do it in other states, but here they won't use the wand in the exhaust unless it's an OBD I setup. Also they won't check for converters here unless the car is loud.

For now they quit doing the e-check here in SW Ohio but I wouldn't doubt that they bring it back in a few years.

Based off of some research and what ive heard from others komatsu thread is what they are. NPT seals by taper, these seal by the flare at the end of the fitting, similar to an AN line.

I assume you're not trying to pass emissions testing
That is what I was thinkin. You wont get passed on emmisions no matter then tune. Inless you know someone.

Leave it and spend your time on something else.
