So one of my friends says i shouldn't be driving on overdrive when i'm racing because the overdrive gear is smaller than the regular gear? is something like this true? should i be driving on regular drive? i know it's such a dumb question but i had to ask.

If you are in overdrive by the time you go through the 1/4... you really need gears, lol. Just because you are in OD on the selecter doesn't mean you are in OD when racing. You should be manually selecting your gears anyway. Start in 1 - Up to D then back to 1 to let it shift for second - Then D for 3rd. Replace the 1's for L's if it's that way... I can't remember off hand.

Or install a Trans Go AOD-HP shift kit and leave it in OD and let it shift by itself at 5600-6000 depending on TV cable adjustment.

Phuck that... On OD or D, it shifts way too early!
The AOD-HP kit has a high upshift govener kit that programs the trans to shift at roughly 5600-6000 rpm. About right for a mild streel Mustang.

actually i heard what flattus said is true. shifting gears will burn the transmission a lot faster. i actually DO have a Transgo shift kit in the car but i guess he did it wrong because it doesn't shift at 5k-6k. it shifts mroe like 4k. and when i called the guy he said if he readjust it to 5k-6k it'll burn out the transmission a lot faster. is this somewhat true?
