so my fan does not turn of unless i turn the a/c on and my temperature gauge on the dash doesnt move at all, ideas? (ill let it idle for over 10 mins fan wont kick on even when top hose has pressure and is hot...turn a/c and it comes right on. even after all this temp gauge says 0 still)

thinking its the ccrm or something like that, coolant temperature sensor, or coolant temperature gauge senser? or maybe bad motor, connector, or relays?

totally stuck! help me please! still think i have bad gasket too, but thats another problem...

i had my coolant sensor blowout, once I replaced my intake my gauge never worked again. changed both sensors, tried grounding the wire on the gauge to see if the gauge was screwed but it deflected all the way. My computer still reads temps properly, I checked voltage on sensors and was good. I ended up with an autometer temp gauge and never looked back. That one works great. Check that the wires are pushed all the way into the plug. I had a wire that would back out when pluged into the sensor but you couldn't tell by looking at it but just a little tug or movement and it would lose the connection.

There is 2 sensors on the coolant runner of the intake. I think one is a temp sensor and the other I cant remember what it is but all related. I kno win the back of the Haynes manuals there is a schematic for the coolant system. Its actually very simple but I dealt with this probally 4-5 years ago and cant remember. I know when I put am 04 motor in my car I had to tap a hole in the coolant channel for the other sensor or the car wouldn't read properly as with the 96 you need both for proper readings into the computer. If you go into a parts store they should be able to tell you which is which. I have it written down in my tool box all the test I did but I am on the north slope in Alaska for work right now and wont be home for probally a few weeks. hope this helps some

oil in there? that is not good. Your coolant flows through there from one side to the other. You could clean it but would most likely either need to reomve the intake or flush your coolant system. And I dont think both sensors are the same but look identical but I could be wrong.
