I doubt it will happen but ima try my best to trap 90 MPH on the motor after a few more bolt ons and a sticky tire to where i can launch about 6,000-6,200 rpms, and i cant wait to go to a 1/4 track because i have never been to a quarter

Damn launching at 6000 would be soooooo sick.

My car still has the stock headers on it which need to be swapped out, my cams have huge exhaust lift *.576* and could benefit from some LT's, that with an electric WP and aluminum DS i hope to break 300 whp with a more aggressive tune

with what you said, you'll hit that no problem man

I think youll definatley benifit with cams. I bet youll be over the 300rwhp mark for sure.

You trapping at 87mph in the 1/8 is really good man. My 1/8 ET was 8.3. Thats on bald NT555Rs and spinning out of the hole. Next Friday the track opens up, but usually the first night its wet. So i might wait til the Wednesday after to run. Hoping to be in the 11's and I would assume the 7s. But I dont usually look at my 1/8 mile stuff, so I dont know what would be a decent ET in the 1/8 would be.

I am not an avid track racer, might go 5/6 times this year. I love cruising/messing around on the street quite a bit. If all you want is a good number to tell people, then take it to the track, see what it runs, then figure out about how much power it would need to run that at your weight and tell people that. no lie that number would prolly be accurate enough as any dyno would be lol. I used to be caught up on dyno numbers too and but i got let down one too many times lol. my '95 after getting tuned at livernois only made 304whp/313tq. with a good h/c/i 347. I about cried after seeing the numbers LOL.

Like others have already posted; dyno numbers can't really be compared. I've dyno'd my previous 93 mustang and made 250ish rwhp yet it trapped 108mph and had a race weight of 3350#s. My 01GT dyno'd 265rwhp (on a different dyno) and traps 104mph and is at full weight.

My friend who bought my 93 from me put a turbo kit and put down 385rwhp (again on a different dyno) and trapped 125mph and i'm sure the turbo kit added at least 100#s to the car.

Comparing trap speeds and weight is the way to go for comparing power.

After reading this I had to say I have some 2v envy in some respect.
Picking up 40hp from some $450 cams would be awesome on a blown 4v. Crower Stage II s/c cams only pick up 30hp for $1200 on a termi.

Of course 2v's benefit much more from increased lift due to less cross sectional area for flow, have half the bumpsticks, and have a non-adjustable LSA.

...I would say round 7.6-7.8...could be tenth slower or a few tenths faster< depends on what kinda tires your running.

@shaun: what changes in your setup have you made to improve that much since your last time to the track?
Last time I went, I was on the stock clutch so I was trying to be easy, not powershifting, or launching hard. I was bogging a lot. Then I had bald NT555R's only a 245 series, and no shiftlight. Now I have a better clutch, 275 NT555Rs, and a shiftlight. So like I said, Im hoping for 11's. My trap speed is definatley good for it.

Shaun. The 297 was just cans no deferring or springs. Customer.didn't want them but then I bought the car. It now has springs and a 40k mile.motor. the 436 HP car had springs

Sweet. Did you need to degree them at all?

lol same here man, i was on some slick 555R's and still have the stock clutch in my car and plan on some 5-6K launches on it after slicks:D
