congrats!

and forgive my lack of new-edge mustang knowledge, but what makes you so scared to break the rear?

should be a 8.8, which are strong enough to take much worse abuse then a high 12 second 1/4 and a 1.9 60'

Thanks man! The rear can only handle so much before the axles go. Most new edge owners upgrade to a 31 spline rear. If you search the 99-04 section within the first few pages you'll see people blowing out their rear ends with D.R.'s.

The 28-spline axles that come from the factory are weak. Some guys beat the crap outta of them and others have had bad luck with them. Most of us, wouldnt risk launching hard on the 28-splines, especially on a prepped track.

EDIT: You beat me to it OP :D awesome time by the way..congrats on the 12's...I should be there this year too.

Thanks man, good luck too you as well!

Just seen this. Your right you could have done better. But slicks would do you wonders. Look at the times in my sig and i made alot less power then you are making. Oh and these rears can take alot of abuse. I was launching at around 5500 rpm on slicks with 0 rearend problems. Still good time none the less.

Congrats rich. I'm in the same boat as you with the times, I should be in the 11's but I don't want to launch my car on the 28 spline rear or powershift and break something. It's my DD!

In Mustangtown we're both running 10's

1.7 60ft times will do this to the axles on drag radials with an aggressive clutch:
