And we polished our cranks because we have a lathe machine (i think its called) at our shop. Its pretty simple. Just put the crank on the machine, lock it in, start it up, and move 1/2 inch strips of sandpaper back and forth across the journals.

Do any of you guys measure piston ring gaps with new rings or do you just put them in?

This is got to be the longest thread in history...lol

Yeah boys I think I'm just gonna run this pump one speed. And yeah this thread is pretty long, but if I started a new thread for each question I had it probably would never end. lol. At least this way i only take up 2-3 posts a day instead of making 2-3 threads haha

Tomarrow we put in cam bearings, any tips on how to make it easy? I was told it is kinda hard to get the oil holes to line up.
oil holes are on the bottom. mark the top OUTSIDE of the bearing (that will be riding on the block) with a sharpie on the TOP of the bearing, that way when you are putting it in the block you can look and see your marking and know that the holes are lining up.

always recheck your work.
