they drive just fine to me...the spec 3+ is soft and grabs hard...but if you never driven a twin disk car...none of them are to fun to drive lol..

just say you cant drive a stick car:D
What's funny is I've driven the same car with a twin disc and then a triple disc racing clutch and that car has been loads more fun to drive than any single disc clutch to drive in traffic. And this was a large single turbo supra. My friend has a spec 3+ and I tell him everytime I see him how much his clutch sucks and how much he needs a McLeod twin disc. It's so heavy and he has to Honda clutch it, which means to rev it up to about 1500-1800rpm before trying to slip the clutch to move the car...uh not fun. It's too heavy and not smooth. Not fun at all.

Sounds like he's just using a junk clutch

not sure what the arugment its over single vs twin disk is but the twin disk is advertiesed as a great clutch and many people who run it enjoy it. it could be due to the fact that they spent a 1000+ dollars on it and refuse to accept its a bad clutch. now i personaly run a spec 3+ clutch with a billet steel wheel and it sucked when it was new but once it broke in it is really not much diff than driving a stock clutch even at slow speeds, which is where i always notice the problems with 6 puck style clutches.

I personally would not think that fellow enthusiasts would falsely tell people to buy a $800 clutch and have them be miserable with it too. Thats just terrible to think that. I'm sure people are actually happy with it. I dont know why people continue to suggest people say they like their expensive parts and would suggest them to other people to just have them have a terrible experience. Thats mind blowing. That would be like telling your best friend to go screw some chick, knowing she has the clap...

So, any updates on how it feels?

I'm waiting for the correct length adjustable pivot ball. :( I sometimes get the feeling that for every week I drive the car it sits on jack stands two weeks. I should have it going by Saturday morning.

Tech Install: McLeod's RXT Twin Disk Street Clutch - Stang TV Forums

Teej, I agree that some of this "internet logic" just does not make sense. I got positive feedback regarding the RXT primarily from corvette guys locally. The one I drove did not feel right to me since the pedal pressure was so light compared to my last single disk. It will take some time getting used to such light pedal pressure.

Regardless, once the RXT is up and going this weekend I will be able to provide honest feedback.

It's alive, with the RXT!!!

It feels like butter, so smooth without chatter. I am not used to the clutch, the pedal pressure is very light. It seems to have the same pressure as the accelerator pedal, which feels very weird to me, coming from a kevlar single disk.

Got to put some miles on it now.

Well, several hundred miles on it and it's great compared to a single disk. I am not used to it yet, it's to soft and feels weird. I will get used to it eventually. Women in the group will like the pedal pressure, it's very soft.

That's really the only way to have it honestly. Putting too stiff of a clutch in a street car takes out all the fun of the car.

Quick update.

Several hundred more miles on this clutch, it functions great, no complaints so far. Makes driving my car in town much more pleasurable. Have had absolutely no problems with it holding power. So far so good.
