Ok how about this, to make it fair and to keep my car somewhat gas friendly *hoping to not go below 20mpg highway* what if i threw in a small turbo? Boom shouldn't it be fair now since it basically puts me on the sti's level?

With the right turbo and proper tuning...I think you should be pushing 350-400 rwhp....so then you should take most of them (if they are stock)

I think "threw in" is a gross oversimplification. Unless "threw in" means over $2k for the turbo kit, new K member, injectors, fuel pump, tune...

You'd be able to run the STI with it though. Just realize a turbo is more than enough to turn your engine into a very expensive boat anchor. Not too far after 400hp is enginefuckingkaboomtime thanks to our sintered rods. Then it's yet more money to make your internals handle it, and it's a vicious cycle from there.

haha well i mean, i have no problem saving up 5 grand to add forged internals and a turbo, because basically that would mean i am at a stock level with these guys who already come with a turbo and better internals. It just means that i actually worked my way up, and can give me some pride saying i actually worked for all that power.

P.s check out my new thread for all you read things, it's the one with the Engine HISSSS.... since you guys sound like you know what you are talking about, you guys probably can help :)

Sleeper! haha...some guys asked me once if it had a 3.1 liter
lmao you shoulda said "yea it does" and took him to the track and race for cash. lol jk i dont condone hustling it could end badly!!

Unfortunatly at your knowledge and skill level a built motor with turbo kit will cost more on the lines of 18-20 grand to pay someone to do it all.

holy dear god. Ok i suppose then...I'll just put a really tiny turbo and no forged internals?... i mean my mechanic only charges 50 by the hour and he's a friend of mine so he might hook me up, but i would prefer to learn myself.

google on3 performance turbo kits. also google ais water methanol injection.

Man thats exactly what i thought. option 2. There was probably a huge surplus of holden monaro bodies they had dibs on so they just said eff it, well take this holden and wedge and ls1 in there with an IRS and call it a GTO........ what a dissappointment to the true gto enthusiasts
knowing the history of cost cutting there thats more than likely what happened. And it already had the v8 they just changed the front bumper, right hand drive and put the pontiac split grill on it. but ppl that had love for the oldschool gtos didnt have anything positive to say about the 04-06 gto though. http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2139940/2005-holden-monaro

We were at a red light. He had a challenger...I said lets run...he wouldnt

EDIT: I don't condone street racing, but if he was going to be that cocky.

you could try going supercharged also low boost on supercharger or turbo and keep the stock internals.

lmao you shoulda ran him up to partways into 2nd gear if no one was around then let off. thats IF he would have thumped his chest at you:cool:

Just keep the boost down... The internals should hold 400 at the crank so thats roughly 350 at the wheels...depending on auto or stick... that will keep you right in with those guys...

I watched a slightly modded 06 GTO dyno at 346 to the rear wheels

War you need to trade your car in for a 03+ cobra then your friends will say alittle less to you
Yea I wanna be able to show my friends that my "rustang" isnt some slow toy. american muscle no matter what man. Although i cant afford a straight up cobra atm, and i love the fact that my car only has 44k miles on it right now..perfect for road trips in the summer
