i need a 5 inch harmonic balancer to achevue the amount of boost i want kenne bell wants like 250 for theirs can anyone point me in the right direction help me find a good one a little cheaper i cant find one anywhere? its for a 98 4v im not sure what other years fit but i know 96- 04 2v will work .. any help?

Its expensive but your not going to beat the quality of an innovators west damper.

You must really have to lower boost is you want a 5" pulley. I'm not sure but I think the 10% underdrive pulley is the smallest and its 5.875". Here's the link:

im looking to run like 8 lbs of boost
... and holy shnikkeeyyss those are expensive anything cheaper or should i just go ith kb

Supercharger pulleys are a lot less expensive. Why not go with a larger supercharger pulley?

Why are you wanting to slow the blower down so much? Stock is 6.5"

i tried a bigger supercharger pulley and it makes the belt rub on the alternator and the crossover tube. and everyone is telling me i should run like 6-8 lbs of boost on my stock engine.

Stop listening to "everyone" and just run 9 or 10lbs if thats what came with it.... You could run 12lbs on it and its not going to break unless you drive it like you stole it.

I wouldn't worry about 9-10psi as long as you have a good tune and fuel system to support it.

Have you looked into any idler pulleys that would keep it away from the alternator/crossover? They make them for the Cobra to help prevent belt slip, I imagine it would be possible to find one (or have one fabbed up) to keep it away from those components, then just run a bigger s/c pulley.

Plus, replacing a s/c pulley is much, much easier than a crank pulley. Ask me how I know.

Lol how do you know, and yes we tried idler pulleys and even when the idler/tensioner pulley from kennebell is maxed out it still just glazes the crossover, but it still rubs agains the alternater pulley pretty good, and right now we put the 12lb pulley on and it clears everything...he's being a pussbag and wont run the 12lb pulley so he's looking for a smaller crank pulley

Well first I marred up the crank and threads a little pulling the balancer off, then I snapped a bolt off in it putting it on. That thing does not go on easy.

Making/changing an idler wouldn't be too hard at all either. Drill some holes in some plate steel and/or pick an idler pulley of your choosing.

Or just don't be a wuss. :tomato

i dont think there is enough room between the sc and the alternator to make an idler i will look into it tonight tho

So just run it at 12lbs and if your that worried have the tuner take a little timing out of it... problem solved, less hp exactly what you wanted.
