This winter I will be doing a lot of work on my own car aside from the work I'll be doing for CodyCat91. Before I get slammed by everyone for "destroying" my car like I have on other forums and venues, a little back info. The car has 108k miles, and last year on July 3rd last yr, the car was parked on the street and some drunk idiot hit it quite hard doing about 6g in damage, including messing up the uni body so that it had to be straightened. Although the car wasn't totaled, its value has dropped sharply. Since then I have decide to make a car that would be designed almost completely for a road course. The car is in the process of being stripped down, I have all of the interior out, and most of the suspension off, and the A/C, heater core, and all of the sound system parts removed. It was a little over 3700 pounds when I purchased the car, and it currently weighs just over 3000 pounds. The goal is to have the vehicle weigh 3100 pounds while still having the factory iron block till I can afford to build a new engine utilizing a Teksid aluminum block. I also plan on using a On3 Performance forward facing single turbo kit with a precision 67mm turbo and a QA1 front suspension, and Maximum motorsports rear lower extreme duty control arms, UPR uppers, and a MM pan hard bar (this is temporary do to money constraints, eventually id like to run a Maximum motorsports front suspension and buy a torque arm to eliminate the uppers). Although i know this will cost more money in the end, I cant afford to go all out right away sadly. I am also building my own aluminum inner door panels and an aluminum dash. This should be a very challenging and time consuming project but i hope to see it actually be finished by May hopefully before graduation.
