Pulled the trans out at work, i guessed right, the converter seal was popped right out. it was an aftermarket seal and i also had my 93 race tune on which i'm assuming upped pressures. those two things combined is what i'm sure pushed it out. sucking pulling it out for that but better than needing an $800 converter.
how/what cause that to just pop out? never heard of that?

how do you go about staking this seal? i didn'r do that to the last one as i saw no way to do it that would actually help.

i believe it's the flanged seal. do you put some loctite around the edge that goes into the pump, basically to "glue" it in?

I talked to my tuner he said n the race tune the pressure is raised some but not enough to shoot out a seal. I'm just curious do you think an improperly balanced driveshaft could cause this? anything over 100mph in 3rd and the car vibrates pretty bad. not sure if this would have anything to do with it.

I had a nasty vibration above 115mph in my car but it only did it half the time. I put an aluminum driveshaft in and it has not done it again yet. I can definitely tell the car is smoother with the AL DS.

well my driveshaft ended up being shot, sent it out to get balanced and they said the rear was tweaked a tad, enough to where they couldn't balance it in. They're going to build me one for my car, said it'll be stronger than an aluminum shaft, weigh at the most 2 lbs more than the stocker, and he's only charging me 199. figured i couldn't beat that. I also got the trans back in today, have a couple things to finish up yet, the shaft should be done tomorrow, so i should be back on the road again soon. I did end up putting a thin layer of loctite on the pump seal just to make sure it doesn't come back out.
