Anybody here know the best spark plugs for better performance? Looking to replace em along with wires and a coil pack:bubba:
Cool, could you tell the difference when you put the pedal to the floor?Iridium, expensive but deffinetly worth it.
Yeah, they sucked. I ran NGK iridiums in my car when I first got it. Thought they were pretty decent compared to the stock plugs with 100k miles on them. Then I swapped them for Autolite coppers. Engine ran much better.Cool, could you tell the difference when you put the pedal to the floor?
I just got a SCT Tuner from American Muscle. You can tell the difference in the car, also not having a governor is cool too.I was to but I tried to order msd wires and only found universal sets they are all really long. I looked at a guys car here who had them they looked like they were all over the place and they were 80 bucks and then the coil was to. From what I understand to unleash any hidden power with msd or the like a tuner is needed and even then its not much but again I could be wrong. Also went with motorcraft because the standard msd wires are 8.5 and motorcraft are 8 so I thought eh close enough.
Lucky lol but thats awesome so it might be a worth while up grade for you since you got the bama tunes for life. I would email them and find out what they think and see if they can write you another tune or tell you that its not worth it.I just got a SCT Tuner from American Muscle. More horsepower from plugs?I usually stick to what OEM recommends. I just thought I would switch it up and try something that can do a bit better/ lookin to sqeeze a little more HP outta that 3.8
Haha I know I know Its not like I can put in some spark plugs and get massive horsepower but every detail counts don't ya think? :swordfight:More horsepower from plugs?
You need to be more worried abo--- Hmm..

our cars wernt designed to run iridiums (complete waste of money). OP stick with Autolite or Motorcraft coppers. With Iridiums its not much of the performance, but of the efficiency it provides. Like already mentioned here, sparkplugs is not the place to look for performance improvements. But because iridium sparkplugs are great conductors (and have a smaller electrode tip), they don't require as much energy from the ignition system as an ordinary sparkplug would. In result theres a less load on the alternator and then resulting on a lesser stress on the engine to operate.
Our cars werent designed and are recommended to operate only on 87 octane, but many still put in a higher octane. This is a complete waste of money since there are no power gains and can also effect it negetively. But people still do it since they are given that option at the pump. Get my comparison?our cars wernt designed to run iridiums (complete waste of money). OP stick with Autolite or Motorcraft coppers.
General rule of thumb, use what your car was designed to run
do I really need to explain exibit A again
