what do you use the car for? DD, strip, open-track, etc.

If it's a drag car, you're probably lookin at a 4000RPM minimum converter.

I'm running one of alan's converters (dirtydogperformance) in my setup. Seems to be performing well. advertised stall is 3200 for mine, but it's a DD/autox/open-track car, so I didn't want to be too high in my powerband smashing the gas coming out a corner.

a good trans cooler should be on the list too if you plan to get a converter.

I am running a ultimate converter 4000 stal and I am very pleased at the difference the stal makes. I remember when my car was tuned bef ore the stal it seemed like it took a bit to get to max rpm, after the stal that thing shot up almost instantly I was very impressed. 4000 is my suggestion.

Circle D makes a 3200, 3500, and 4200 but I'm sure they can make you something between the 3500 and 4200. Definitely don't go less than 3500.

hey cb,

i wanted to know if you think 3200 stall is too aggressive or not? how hard is parking, ect. there's a ton of stop and go traffic up here in northern VA, and i put a lot of miles on my car so I want to pick the right stall to keep it a tamed DD

i just put a JEGS trans cooler on it this week to prepare for doing the stall

To aggressive No I say 3800 to 4000 Is a about perfect for our cars..

When you order your converter you'll have to specify whether you want lock up or mon lockup. I went with a non lockup on mine when I ordered it.
