I have an issue with my fuel an mph gauges.

My fuel one doesn't work at all, no idea what to do first or how to check for the problem.

My mph gauge is stuck @ 65mph an doesn't work at all. I was told my gauge itself was broke but also that it could be the cable?

What are ways to figure these out or have anyone had these issues before?

Also how hard would it be to just redo the whole dash with aftermarket gauges?
I.E (fuel, fuel pressure, oil pressure, temp, rpm, and mph)

On 90-93 mustang there is a small circuit board on the back of the cluster just above the fuel gauge. It is the anti slosh for the frel gauge its also a volt reg. When they go bad the fuel gauge wont work. Latemodelresto sells them but there over a $100

What's funny it that the Anti-Slosh Module for the Low Fuel Warning Switch only comes in the GT.

Why would it only come on the gt ? As far as i know its on all 90-93 mustangs, but i could be wrong.

I went mechanical for the oil and water as it's superior over electric. But that's just me.
Scott, will you look on the back of your old stock gauge cluster, and see if you have the anti slosh circuit board that i listed a few posts up. Im curious to see if (almost stock) is correct about that only being on GT models.

No, I have it in mine also, but that's not to say that this cluster is original to my car.... Though, I'm guessing it's in all of them. Just part of it isn't used, like the fog light wiring on LX cars. Cheaper to just make one product to carry.

This is from the 1989 Mustang Shop Manual and also from the 1989 Owner Guide.. I'm the original owner of my 89 GT and still have all the original pamphlets they give you when you buy a new car.

I understand that, its just odd that you have info about that circuit board in 1989. Cuz my understanding is This circuit board is only for 1990-1993. Any ways, you seem to know more about it then i do, so ill just take your word for it

No real reason to just take my word for it.

I see where you're coming from with what you've read or heard, but the fact is I don't know why the 89 Shop Manual or the 89 Owner manual would print something 1-4 yrs before it took place if it wasn't correct if you can understand where I'm coming from.

i see what your saying.

heres a thought though. Wouldnt you say that even though the lx may not have the low fuel level warning light that the lx model would still use the anti slosh portion of the circuit board ? if not, then id think that when ever the fuel sloshed around in the tank that the fuel gauge would read all over the place. and that would stand to reason that if the board ever went bad the fuel gauge would no longer work. like i said this is just a thought and i have nothing to prove this. just wanna get your thoughts on this.

cuz i thought any thing before 1990 had some sort of a resister as the anti slosh and in 1990 is when the removable circuit boards came into play.

by no means am i arguing with you. im just trying to figure this out
