What is truth and what is "truth", as in what is stretched for selling purposes. Also, they said for a mcpherson strut setup, optimized camber is -3*, that just seem ridiculous. lol Anyone that uses a MM setup, what do you run for camber, or anyone who Auto-X's or does open trakc days. I know Jazzer runs -1.75* on a SLA setup, but like in the vid, they were running consideralby less negative camber because of the SLA setup. Also, is Agent 47 a legit company? Any help would be awesome. Thanks.

Just trying really hard to gather as much information as I can, to make a decision on what route I want to go. MM or SLA.

Don't know about the camber question and I don't autox or run open track days but I do know that agent47 is a legit company

Lol I love how you ask if they are a legit company but at the end of the video they give you a url lmao.

I should have clarified... What I meant to say was "reputable". I know they're legit, as in not a scam, but are their products ****?? That's what I meant.

I am most likely going SLA as this company is considerable cheaper than Griggs, 3 grand cheaper. Thus the question, "Are they legit"? Agent47's SLA set up is as expensive as MM's Max Grip box, so that's why I pose these questions. Word???

Sorry man it's all good, I don't know of anyone on this forum that uses their suspension

The vid pretty much sums it up :yes

The need for static camber is reduced, as the amount of camber is sustained throughout the path of the front wheels travel. The SLA is a hardcore set-up for both cornering and braking, but is damn hard to justify for a street-only car. Griggs and Agent47 are obviously the big players in the SLA set-up and both will improve the items mentioned here. Due to the adjustable nature of all four links of the arms, camber, caster and fore/aft wheel location adjustability, either arm should be capable of making the identical path of travel. I think this comes down to an issue of strength, more than anything else. The Agent47 says it is lighter and weight being an important part of an all-out racecar, this can be an advantage. The "closest competitor" (Griggs is the only other maker a commercially marketed SLA of which I am aware) is by inferrence the heavier of the two. It has been my experience, that Griggs will not only look to design, but build the **** out of something to avoid it failing. Lighter is nice, but if a part fails and you are out of a race or crash, that is of little comfort in a heap of metal on the side of the track :( Often referred to as "paying for a name", one pays for the reputation of a company/product and a big reason why Griggs is more expensive.

Does it mean that Agent47 will win more races because it is lighter... :no
Does it mean that Griggs will lose more races because it is heavier... :no

The difficulty in making a comparison falls to a rate of success/failure, in most cases. There are SOO many subtle differences in the set-up of a race car, no one item can ever be 100% attributed to a given win. For me, this came down to a complete system of parts that are all designed to work together. Could the Agent47 SLA be made to work with the rest of the Griggs front end...? :yes It would take no more than a little fabricating of some subtle design differences. Just take a look at Ernesto Rocco's car to see this first hand. In my mind it is all about the set-up for a given set of conditions and they change with every single race and over the course of the day.

Interesting. I understand what you're saying Jazzer. Which pretty much sums up the offing pickle I'm in. Thanks for chiming in. THus, I would assume that on your Griggs setup, you've had no issues with it? As far as SLA goes, you're the only one that I know that uses it, and you rock Griggs. In that article, they say that SLA is best for all around??? EVERYONE rocks an MM setup, however I don't think a MM setup is competitive enough. Just trying to include all variables, as is doesn't matter which route I go, be it MM, Griggs or Agent47, that's still a lot of dough to be chucking out. Ya dig?

The SLA can ONLY offer benefit to cornering/braking, just not very much until you really push it hard. If one can afford the price tag and is looking to rock turns hard, you won't find a better option than SLA :no

Well then, it's ****ing settled, I'm tired of being fickle over this ambiguous matter anyways. I'm saving for a Griggs SLA set up. No if's, and's, or butt's about it. haha That's my final answer.

Jazzer - Different direction (don't see the point in making anew thread). Horsepower and Auto-X?!?!?!?! I've seen some high powered Vipers move through the cones pretty swiftly, I've seen some high powered (high 400's) STI's run through the cones pretty good and I've seen some high powerd Stangs run good through the cones. What is your opinion/experience with horsepower and Auto-Xing, as in how much is too much? Personal preference? Doesn't matter as long as you have good throttle control?? With a SLA setup, it won't matter???

The single largest mechanical advantage/disadvantage... weight! Beyond this and I mean WELL beyond this, is the all important "non-mechanical advantage"... the driver mod :yes

Throttle control is premium in AX, as I see people generally having more trouble with 400+ HP rides. This is obviously a very general statement, but it is very hard to get a cornering tire to hook with major power.

The SLA will not save one from him/herself, in the event way too much throttle is given. It will help, but without the all-important "driver mod", an SLA will only take you soo far. This is why TGR and I are always stressing those to take an OEM ride to AX for the first several events. This will give pepes very valuable lessons in driving and helps him/her to better understand the benefits of particular suspension mods.
