I've been searching the web high and low to find a decent price on some 42 lb injectors. Does anyone know a place where I can get a good price on them, because I'd prefer to not have to buy them used.

BTW, I need an entire set of 8, in case it matters.

Get used 39lb cobra injectors. They are flow rated to 42lbs so they are practically the same thing. I got mine with new adapters for $150. They're always floating around ebay.

I have a chip already tuned to go with 42 lb injectors though. If I got 39 lb'ers or bigger injectors, would they work with the tune? Because the set-up involved a Lightning MAF and I've heard that running that with the wrong injectors causes problems.

The tune is good for 418 rwhp with my set-up btw, but I think 39's can handle that as well.

I'd get a different Maf anyway. Get a PMAS or Pro M cal'd for 39# and youll be set
Well I got a really good deal on the MAF and wouldn't have enough money to get a tune for a new MAF anyway.

It looks like I'll end up getting used ones. Anyone have any for sale?

If you want new injectors go to Kurgan Motorsports their prices are awesome.

How do you know the tune is good for 418rwhp? I'm little confused on what you mean here. It doesn't matter what injectors you run with the 90mm maf as long as your tuner writes you a tune for those injectors and maf. Why did you get a chip with a tune on it before even having your supercharger pieced together?

id go with used 39s.. i got mine for 95+ shipping.. on ebay... just gotta keep checking.. I searched for about 2 weeks looking everyday until i got the right deal.

Im confused too. Do you mean your maf is cal'd for the injectors or do you have some tune for your car already?

Alright, I should have explained this to start. A family friend had the exact same setup as I currently do. Vortech V-2 Sq with same pulley on the same year engine with the Lightning MAF and 42 lb injectors. I'm also doing a straight through exhaust set-up.

Anywho, he got an SCT chip and a tune—I believe from one of the higher-ups at SCT. Then, he moved up to a Cobra and sold the car, but took off the after-market stuff first.

So I got it for free. And now I'm trying to piece together everything I need and all that is left is the injectors.

I apologize for the confusion btw.

Umm... if a chip works the same way as a handheld tuner where it is married to the computer via the computer code then the chip from his car will not work on your car. You will need to have it reburned. Anyway, every car is different so even if you had the same mods it doesn't mean his tune file will perform the same on your car. You should not think that the setup is good to 418rwhp, because there really is no exact number. You have to get your car on a dyno and get it dyno tuned. Some guys peg the lightning mafs and svt focus pumps at under 400rwhp and others are fine at 450rwhp.

^this. Needs to be on a dyno. No way in hell I'd trust someone else's canned tune on my car, if the chip would even work for your ECM. Like blownstang said, LMafs and SVT pumps vary a lot depending on the car. If you get it tuned, then are unhappy with the performance, you'd still have to buy the other parts and then pay for a re-tune. Plan out exactly what you want and build accordingly. Take your time if you need to.

What exactly is your goal for the car? A specific hp# or ET?

Yeah, I can get it flashed no problem from a friend of my father's for free. Had to do the same thing when I got my car because the engine wasn't running right because an '02 engine was swapped into it and the guy wasn't really sure what he was doing.

And I worded that poorly; what I meant was he dyno'd his at 418 after the fact. I was just trying to give y'all a general idea of where I expect to be, which is hopefully near 400 at the wheels or more.

BTW, we have the same pump straight from Vortech if it matters. Also, his car wasn't even dyno tuned, he built his car around what the chip needed to perform correctly. Not sure if he just got lucky, but I don't have the money to get a dyno tune.

My goal is ~425 at the wheels. Then I'll start saving to get subframe connectors, springs, hood, window tint (just got new tails/headlights), and components for an engine build (have a spare 2v block).

However, I'm just a senior in high school so it's tough to get money while trying to get good grades and with athletics. Right now, I'm living off my money I got from working in the summer. It also helps to have a dad who owns his own shop and get's huge discounts from dealers/manufacturers.

BTW, I appreciate all the advice guys. I definitely can't afford to waste any money so keep it coming.
