Well guys, I have been going back and forth about this car for a few months. A little background. I bought the car two years ago(Nov. '10) and Feb. '11 the turbo kit was ordered and installed. I put about 1500 miles on the car during the summer of 2011 and then decided I wanted a billet wheel turbo and cams. Over the winter of 2011 I installed a Precision 6765H and a set of Detriot Rockers. The Rockers didn't stay in very long at all as I knew I wanted more and those cams weren't going to go with later plans. I put another 1500 miles or so on the car this summer while I collected parts.

As of right now the car is in quite a few pieces in the garage as it has no fuel pumps in it and is undergoing a wire tuck(kind of wish I didn't undertake the wire tuck). The wiring is not for the faint of heart. I am hoping to get done with the wire tuck and have the engine removed and to the engine builder the last week of December. I have quite a few parts but will be picking up more after the first of the year.

Here is how the car looks right now...

This post was put together yesterday...

Made some good progress on the wire tuck today. Got enough done to at least get the fender on. I also only have the one bank from the fuse box to extend the wires for still(the headlight one) and then I can put the fuse box back together. Waiting on a few pieces to finish up the battery relocation yet too, but I did run the power and ground wires from the truck to the engine bay today.

Got the head light harness extended today and buttoned up the fuse box. I still need to run the feed to the fuse box. I bought a 3/8" brass insulated stud that I am going to mount on the firewall just to the right of the fuse box for a common point to run all the power lines. I had ran a 4ga power wire to the trunk for the feed, but now I am worried that won't be big enough so I think I am just going to order a battery relocation kit that will come with larger wire.

Kind of ticked off at myself for already re-wrapping the harness also. My MAF is on the passengers side now and would have like to have run those wires from under the fuse boxes new location instead of all the way to the front of the engine in the original location and then back to the other side of the motor under the alternator. Does anyone know which wire they are going off the computer so I can just splice them in over there?

Looks pretty good man. I was thinking of hiding all the wires but looks like a pain to do

Hey Fuel, on your wire tuck, did you relocate your fuse box and ECU? And if so, where did you move it to?

Discussion starter · #10 ·
Yes, I moved both. The ECU is behind the fender behind the passengers side front wheel. The fuse box is now where the battery used to be. You can see them in the pics above.

I must have missed it but what power adder will you be going with since your have your turbo set up for sale?

I was going to go to a twin kit, but the company that is developing it isn't getting very far, so I will be keeping the kit that I have on the car. Should be able to make north of 700 on it with the turbo I have. I just need to find an extra 2k before I get this project all wrapped up in early spring to get a TR6060, not sure how much abuse that 10 spline input shaft is going to take.

A little update for now. I have installed the battery relocation kit and the car started right up on the first crank. No issues with the wire tuck so far. I also installed a hurst shifter so we shall see how I like this one over the stock shifter come summer time. I got tired to missing 3rd when using my no-lift-shift, although I do need a lot of practice. As you may have seen, I ended up selling the RA and the fuel system. That build was going to be a little more than what I needed and kind of just "wimped" out on it. I have some ideas for more power still, but will know more about that I a month or two. Here are some pics for now...

I am going to be installing these today....

The front end of the car all tore apart again. I took out the headlights and a few other lights and they were sent off to Bobby@S&H. He is hooking me up with a full set of tinted lights and markers.

Some parts that are still in transit to me for the car include..

Tinted lights
QA1 adjustable rear shocks
BMR K-member clearanced for turbo piping

I am also going to be making a dual 3" dump with 3"x 30" packs. Going to be interesting to see how this sounds(esp with the cams)! I bought a 3" v-band flange so that this setup can just be bolted right up the turbo piping in place of the original y-pipe.

Originally started out as a 750-800 hp build, with return style fuel and the whole nine yards. That was just way too much money and power for what my car is. I use my car as a weekend cruiser with only one real race out-ing per year. The enigne plans now are..

Stock Crank
4340 H-beams
Mahle Flat tops (about 11:1)
'13 GT500 oil pump with 3v pressure springs
TTY bolts throughout
Retain full VCT
Exedy Mach 600 clutch
Twin GT500 fuel pumps (Will probably need to add a BAP)
FRPP 80lb injectors

Should be a nice engine build that should come in at around $2500. I am also trying to finish up all the suspension.

I have currently

J&M LCAS
J&M Ad UCA
CJ springs
J&M ad ph

Adding
BMR K-member
QA1 adjustable rears

Still need to get a stronger diff cover and will weld up the axle tubes for the insurance.

Whats the specs on the cams? and power?

I had detriot rockers in the car last spring, but took those out right away(let someone tell me that I shouldn't run them with the turbo). Ever since I sold those cams I wanted to have a set again and happened across this set of BBR Stage 1 cams. I am uploading the video now. Here is the graph from the last time the car was on the dyno.
