Think thats what its called the wrench you use to adjust coil overs, I need one and hate to wait on one to be shipped, any one know where I can purchase one from at a local retailer? only like 20$ but my **** Is SLAMMED in the front after A-Arm and coilover install and it need to go up just a little bit, looks good rides like **** and makes a bunch of noise (think i need to put a spacer under the CC plate not just on top?) like a shitty clanking noise when I go over rough rooads and sometimes makes a popping sound when im turning shaft out of my complex

I didn't need a spanner wrench to adjust my coilovers, just jack the car up and take the weight off of it. I have a spanner wrench I purchased from UPR products, but it's never been used. Do it by hand and save yourself a few bucks.

you cant do it by hand any more.. its way too hard lol, im thinking there is a need for the spacer.. I looked into a little and it seems to be a common problem but iv checked everything is tight and looks ok, ball joints are brand new came on the A-arms there less than a month old not too sure whats going on under there :(

The spanner wrench from UPR is only around $19

yea Ill order it I just didnt want to wait for it to ship but I want to know wtf the noises really are, the car looks great but I feel like for having a bunch of new front **** it shouldnt ride louder and as bad as it did with the bad struts and sportline springs it had before...maybe after I raise it a bit itll ride a little better?

Spanners are avail from UPR as Nick said... Summit racing.... Jeg's etc. I don't own a spanner wrench either. Never needed one. Take all of the weight off the front of the car, put on a good set of mechanics gloves and grab hold..........it's not that hard. You mentioned you can't turn it anymore.... if you've run out of threads there is something wrong with the install. If you haven't run out of threads, you're not using gloves and two hands and putting your ass behind it.

Its really not a ****ing complicated thing WHAT THE ****KKKK is the deal???? maybe the little nylon thing on the tip of the lock nut is stuck in the threads? both sides? highly unlikely??

If you are really in Austin, ill let you borrow mine!

Highly likely actually. I've had that happen myself. If you over tighten the set screws it will deform the nylon tip and jam it inside. Put some ass behind it! Here's the only pic I could find.

I found another one I did not too long ago too, little better shot.

yea maybe its just jammed! still I even stuck big allen wrenches in the holes and did it like that until it wasnt moving any more and I almost tuck in the front still, but before I adjusted it I was like so low When i let the jack down it got stuck and the neighbors had to lift it to get the jack out.

Its not happening by hand lol I had every person out side try and we couldnt get it any further

How many other guys experience coilover noise? I get the same exact thing going over bumps and I hate it. I've considered putting the springs back in. My ball joints are good and I run a spacer between the coil over and c/c plate. My car is lowered, but not slammed. I routinely check my coilovers as I have access to a lift and air. Everything always looks alright. Any tricks or tips to quiet them down?

Im working all day tomorrow, 7-5. Id be willing to take a look at it, see if I could help.
Pm me your number

I'm gonna have to say sounds like somthing is wrong... they should be very hard to turn, and get even harder as the spring compresses farther. If you and everyone else can't make it happen chances are something is wrong. How bout you post some pics.

I had a little noise when I was still running a street style strut due to the normal movement of the strut (up and down... allowing the spring to rub on the threaded collar and therefore producing noise). I had no other noise. After I swapped to drag struts up front which allow very little compression and a **** ton of rebound I have absolutely no noise whatsoever..... mainly because there is very little suspension travel that would allow the spring to rub on the threaded collar.

If you type in "clunking noise" into google before you even finish it comes up with this problem in many vehicles, Iv also considered putting my springs back in but **** that I already spent the money on the "improvment" And will not be beat, but the noise is extremly aggervating and the ride quality is less than ****
