i was thinking about getting 16x8 w/ 5" back spacing.. with 245 or 255/50/16..thoughts? I want to get them black. i have stock springs with no isolators and that might change (maybe .5" drop dnt want it that low) I like the nascar look, dont ask why...just like the nostalgia.

i have 17x9s w/ 4.5 bs now (i think) with 275/45/17 rear now... (88 gt hatch)

found this on the Corral.... 16x8 w/4.5 bs

thanks fellaz!

haha, guess i left it kinda open ended!

i am wondering what back spacing to get.. i like the way that red coupe looks but would like to fill the rear in a little more.. my car sits pretty even (no Rake) so i dont think ill have a problem with 245or255/50/16 filling up the well on mine

the 275/45/17 on 9" wide i think is a 4.5bs.. so would i need a 5"bs with an 8" wide to keep the same look i have?

was hoping any also knew where i can find some feed back on the diamond steelies, ie: weight, price, pics

thanks

AHA! TECH!

Alright, well, I'll be the first to say it. Search. Search. Then grab a beer and search so much more. I decided on 5.5"BS, 8.5" rim, 255 60 15. I know a lotta cats smash big tires back there (I've seen 315s on one of these forums) but every application is different.

Things to keep in mind
1) suspension (lowering vs drag vs oem vs etc)
2) brand loyalty (tires may run the same numbers but different actual sizes)
3) axles (if you have disc conversion,5 lug, etc)
4) and most importantly your goals. If its just looks and you want to smash some meat in there just because (bwahahahaha) then do as you will but a lot of guys don't actually run the fattest tire that will fit. Your times will tell if you need that much contact patch.

As for the diamond racing, no clue.

well im going to run some bridgestones and i have run 255's and they have a nice side wall.
and i plan to keep the stock height, just better shocks and frame bracing, tower bars, mm full lengths, U/LCA's etc
stock 4 lug w/ drums

if i have 4.5 bs not @ 9" wide..
would i have to go to 5"bs on an 8" wide to keep the outer rim lip the same as the 9"?

I checked out their page. First cars I see are spatzle and rice.
The rims remind me of my rock crawler.

Find some shots of a fox, then ask opinions.

You're on your own
yea i think i am... i was a work today (im a mechanic) and saw a jeep Cherokee with black "d" type steelies w/ bead-locks.. i was like ****, my stang is gona look like a jeep! haha

as for back spacing.. do i need to add more when im getting a narrower wheel but want the same flush look? mine are flush now and i like that about them...

Like I said man, you gotta do some leg work to figure out the best combo. There are a lot of contributing factors. There is a wheel and tire section, they may be more apt in this department. I kinda cheese balled it myself, I searched (hint, hint) until I saw enough combinations of what I was looking for and then I tracked down that set up. Fwiw I picked up my 4 convo pro's for 500 shipped (from two separate people) off corral. Fronts had a set of bfg radials on em.

Little spit polish (not true, more like a lot of mothers and elbow grease) and this is what I have now.
