Fox and new edge is like comparing the Dodge Viper to a Dodge neon. Would you rather have a wtf, or gtfo? Pick one.

OP, second one with salvage title for bent exhaust tip? C'mon now, don't tell me you believe any of that? I hope you know what you're looking at when you go there. If you know anyone with bodyshop experience, you better bring them along.

Oh, i didnt read that far into the add. It has a salvage title ? Never mind then. Id never buy a salvage title, that destroys what little resale value these cars have, not to mention, dealing with any unforeseen issues that earned the car a salvage title to begin with

Add says it has a clean title. Im confused then as well.

Dude if you only have $2500 to spend on a car that will be your sole mode of transportation, neither of those will be reliable.
I don't understand why people say this...nothing is reliable these days you can buy a new car off the lot and have more issues than i have with my 20 year old car. My fox is my dd as well as thousands of other people around the world. Any car is going to have issues eventually... I have dd'd mine for over 2 years with very few problems and if my car was down it was only for a day or two. They don't make a bulletproof car even if they did its not gonna be in that price range lol. Hell I've dd'd a 50 year old car with less issues than my sister has had out of her newer model ford edge.

I've never spent more than 3k on a car. Always DD'ed them with no issues.

And to everyone talking about the salvage title, I have no issue with this. Don't plan on selling it. Obviously I'm gonna check it out before I buy it.

Do what you think is right it's your money but don't post your plans here showing everyone without expecting opinions. I hope things worked out for you

It's not that you have issue with it now, but in 5 or 10 years when foxes are pulling a little more than they are now it might matter. I said it myself, I'll NEVER sell this jeep...well, jeeps gone. And I got my ass handed to me on it.

More importantly, a salvage title means its been goobered. It could be that insurance didn't find the body damage cost worth the effort, or it could be a bent frame. Tread lightly and ask a ton of questions.

I too wouldn't go near a salvage title car. Fwiw.

Had I pulled the hatch carpet and passenger side rear quarter plastic on my car or paid better attention to the passenger side of the drip rail of the hatch opening, I would have seen that my car has had a rear quarter replaced on it. Doesn't mean jack now especially for all that I've done to my car, but that rubber grommet that seals the filler neck to hatch floor is ****ed, and was crumpled and not replaces. Shitty job of trying to pull it back out too. It's a cut out and replace if I want to do anything about it now. PO told me that my car had a fender and door replaced from hitting a deer and that's when it was repainted.... right... sure it was.

Well, I got in a fender bender in one of my fox's. literally just bent the fender and busted the side marker. My insurance wanted to total the car. So I can see how a fox could get totaled and a salvage title for something small since its old and not worth a lot to insurance companies. I'm gonna look it over with a fine-tooth comb. If I see something that he's not disclosing that's serious like frame damage, I'm not doing it. But if its straight I'm jumping all over it. I have zero plan of selling it. Not really like I paid too much for it either. If it was more like $5k I wouldn't even try. And I figure in a few years ill probably be financially stable enough to get a new car and keep this one as a toy.

No there is def not brand new cars that share issues with a 20 year old car. I didn't say there was a problem with daily driving a fox, I've owned one. I said these ones would most likely be a problem.

The problem is you don't risk spending the little money you have on a car thats prob had 5 owners, all of which who bought the car to beat the snot out of it.

swapped 4 cyl cars always have a slew of problems.

And trust me, I know all about spending $2500 on daily drivers. I have a s10 I put around every day. gets over 25mpg in the city and I wouldn't think twice about trading it for a 150 plus k 5.0 for reliability.

I wouldn't worry about a salvage title with a car that's fully depreciated. I would buy whichever car is in better condition but anything can break once you take it home
Mechanically.

I've owned 3 fox bodies. 2 of them had ~150k and one with 225k miles. None of them ever gave me issues and I DD'ed them 80 miles a day. I'm well aware of what I'm getting into. I'm going to look at it tonight. If its trash I'm not getting it. If its straight, I'm taking it home. I figured I'd at least get a little praise for returning to the 5.0 community but I guess not lol.

It would be great to put you behind the wheel of a fox again, but at the same time were just trying to help, we dont want you to settle is all. Im curious, you really seem to be into foxbodys, why do you get rid of them if you know your just going to end up buying another, lol

Any ways i hope this notchback turns out to be a good one. Good luck and keep us updated
