i have installed the driver chain side and its reallyvery tight against the compressed tensioner and the passenger side y loose, is this normal ? very thing is new , new motor
Not that I have any experience with OHC engines but I would assume it would be pretty tight in order to keep valve timing accurate. The other side should definitely not be loose. Pull both chains and see if they are imdeed the same length or count the links. Then reinstall them on opposite sides. If it is still off there has to be something wrong with the motor. Something is not adding up correctly.every thing is new and the chain is putting so much pressure on the tensioner it is compress and i rotated it around to see if it loosens
The tensioners due use oil pressure, but a new tensioner has enough pressure to apply moderate pressure on the guides.Don't the tensioners need oil pressure to work?
When I did cams, chains, tensioners and guides about 9 months ago, I replaced everything new. Everything was nice and tight but not as tight as it seems the OP is describing it. It sounds like something is not right to me. Are you sure you got the correct chains? Not that I have any experience with OHC engines but I would assume it would be pretty tight in order to keep valve timing accurate.
