I feel like this is asking a question like what will I pick up ET wise with new gears. This is something though that I've looked for on the internet and had a little bit of a tough time trying to find out of curiosity.

I was wondering if anyone knows the fastest someone has went with a stock block new edge on a 245 tire whether it's a regular radial or drag radial? Just a random thing that popped up in my head and very random.

I'm running the stock bullits with a Nitto 555r with a V1 and trying to see what I can do on the 245 I have. In case you are wondering what else I have, just a catback and that's it.

Gears are getting installed today so very excited about that.

I don't know what the fastest is, but I imagine it's pretty slow. 245's are narrow. Maybe if you were running a 245 DR you might be able to click off a decent time, but I'm skeptical.

That really depends on the driver. A V1 + 4.10s is going to be hard to launch even with 245-555Rs. If the track is prepped and you heat those puppies up really good you should do good. I'm certain that a 245 Nitto 555R will hook better than the 315 Sumitomos I ran a couple of times.

But the fastest time on 245s? I don't know if anyone has kept that type of data.

Sharkbait is still on 245s IIRC

There's all sorts of stats out there I'm sure but yeah just a random stat I was curious about. I have 3.73s going in today and looking at a converter for next year possibly, or maybe end of year if I find money somehow. Looking to push it on a 245.

Why?? 245s are narrow and looks silly. I would rather (in my case and car) have wide ass tires that dont hook all that well than skinny tires that hook good. But i dont track my car.
Why wouldn't you try it? But seriously, wider beefier tires are only a band-aid at the time until you want more power and then start spinning again. All about the suspension at that point.

I'm just trying to stay as stock appearing as possible (besides chin spoiler) and pushing it as much as I can with a 245. For being told the Vortech is a V1, it's awfully quiet. Obviously not the fastest thing in the world, but just thought about those random little stats.
