Wait, so you made your mustang a hard top convert? Or you just cut you roof off?

NVM I see now that your car is a convertible, so why is there a hard top on it in your sig? lol Im confused
Lol started life as a vert, but bought a removable hardtop, and removed the vert components. OEM vert top and all it garbage weighed about 150lbs, and the new top weighs 67lbs. So I saved weight, look nicer and leak less lol.

Is that cage a kit you bought? Or are you teaching yourself to do them or something?
It started out as a kit cage(8pt 8.50et) but this is my 3rd set of cage sides and windshield bar, didn't like how the kit fit, so had my buddies shop bend new ones. I did all the fitting, notching, welding and other fab work. Only thing I didn't do was make bends. I was gonna buy a bender and do it all but dies for the bender were like $500 alone, so I bought a kit, and modified.

But ya, this was my first cage so taught myself lol. The cage isn't quite done, as I still have to put in the "D" bars, passenger door bar(goes in last trust me!) and the dimple die gussets. Just had to get some paint on it before it rusted too badly lol.

Oh and BTW, I have a new carpet kit, floor mats, black interior panels, and will be getting a new dash, so it will be basically a full interior car, kinda. At least it will look like it, although some weight reductions have been made.

Thanks man. It uses 2 "J" hooks with threaded knobs that attach to the OEM vert framework, but since I removed ALL of the convertible stuff I just fabbed up some new brackets/seat belt mounts.

And now I don't have the OEM seatbelts anymore so that whole mechanism is gone.
And here is the bracket(picture taken back when I made it:

On a side note, it's so funny, I posted this in the V6 section too, and almost no responses to it. I figured when windstar swaps and plug wires were the hot topics a fully caged new edge would be interesting. Guess not lol.

Hahahaha :funnah

And uh, still looking for an x-pipe if anyone's got one laying around... :shiftyeyes

finished up my rotors and calipers. fixing the rust, chips, runs and polishing the cobra letters.

How much did that brake setup cost?

Installed painted UCAs into the IRS cradle, buttoned up the diff with a new LPW reinforced diff cover, and finished painting all the IRS components. Hoping to have it all back in the car by the end of the weekend.
Pics. Now.

Was going to paint my IRS black to match the driveshaft, but we kinda threw it in before I got the chance. :lol

Definitely one of the most unique and admirable V6s on the site.

Great job on the cage.

I originally was going to paint the IRS primer grey to match the POR-15 underside of my car, but I decided to go factory black.

It's really not that impressive. The cradle, UCAs, diff mount, and front diff support are all black. The LCAs and the diff cover are left as bare aluminum, which I suppose matches my driveshaft.

I'm just glad I cleaned up all the damn rust. There was tons of it.

Nice. I lucked out and the guy I got the IRS from had replaced most of the components on it and it had a diff. brace and full $800 FTBR bushing kit :D

I should have painted it some obscure color that doesn't match the car, like blue or red :lol
