which one is the one everyone wants or would rather have and what is the difference?
the windsor was used in trucks, thus heavier duty in stock form. The mains are wider and the dowels align and help the cap from moving better than the jack screws. the rod's are larger than the romeo, and feature full floating pins vs pressed on the romeo...but you know thisacmillr said:Reason?? this problem is not limited to the windsor,or a 4.6 for that matter. I know of a few 03's(n/a) that blew out a plug. the 5.4's and 6.8's blow them too. Ford blames incorrect torque2kGT said:the main prob with the dam windsor mills from that time frame - truck engines included, is that the heads have a nasty problem of spitting spark plugs, which results in stripped out threads and you have to take the head off to fix it properly.......
Who is feeding you this ****?? The rods are identical. Also, all the 4.6's have floating pins. I will be glad to take some pictures for you. Stop repeating things that you have heard on other internet sites.limited said:the windsor was used in trucks, thus heavier duty in stock form. Also, Windsor does not produce aluminum blocks.limited said:I will stick to my statement the main system is superior on the windsor, the oiling diff I was refering to was actually on the alum. block(drain back).I said "I believe" my bad
Anyone with some common sense should be able to disect this statement as bullshit. If the mains are wider, how can the crankshafts be interchangable?? You are FULL OF ****....... I say that with all due respect.limited said:the windsor was used in trucks, thus heavier duty in stock form. For those of us who are not mechanics it is sometimes difficult to separate the falsehoods from the truth. I read a statement once about Mach 1s having a forged crank but regular rods and pistons. Even I would have to question why Ford would do that. But sometimes it is a little more difficult. Especially when the information comes from reputable places.acmillr said:Anyone with some common sense should be able to disect this statement as bullshit.
