Pro, if you do however decide not to change it back to stock, I would tell them if I were you. I've heard stories of guys with custom tunes not mentioning anything to the dealer, and then the car goes in for service, and they do something to the pcm not knowing there is an after market tune, and **** gets all fubared. I don't know how much truth is behind these stories, but better safe than sorry. Either pull the tune, or tell them about it. If your service manager is a dick, you're probably best to just pull the tune for all the time it takes.

pull it, they did a oil change on my car and they knew it was supercharged and the idiot still flashed the pcm to the newest strategy out by ford and erased the kenne bell tune and i had to wait for 2 weeks to get another tune so i could drive the car

I know that when I had my last mustang and I had some mods added on and I had to send it to the shop, they said the warranty was no use since I added extra stuff to the car. I was pissed. They made me pay for all the work myself. Hopefully your situation will work out for the best.

They took advantage of you. The only way they ca void the warranty is if an aftermarket part cause the part to fail. So say you have an exhaust and the power steering pump goes bad, they have to fix it by law.

Yes, hb, my service manager has told me that any modifications will only affect warranty on parts that are affected by said modification.

....affect.....effect....Affleckt? whatever. :lol

MAGNUSON MOSS WARRANTY ACT
US Code - Title 15, Chapter 50, Sections 2301-2312
Legally, a vehicle manufacturer cannot void the warranty on a vehicle due to an aftermarket part unless they can prove that the aftermarket part caused or contributed to the failure in the vehicle (per the Magnuson Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2302(C)) . For best results, consider working with performance-oriented dealerships with a proven history of working with customers. If your vehicle manufacturer fails to honor emission/warranty claims, contact EPA at (202) 260-2080 or U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. If federal warranty protection is denied, contact the FTC at (202) 326-3128 or Federal Trade Commission - Home.

This is the law that even if you car is modded they have to prove that it indeed was the cause for the problem. The dealer hates doing warranty work only because they are limited to the amount of hours they can charge on that work order, so they avoid warranties like the plague. But they will sell you one in a minute, you see they get paid off of hours worked on the car not worked in a day. So figure your car goes in for ummmm wiper wont work... They will get you for two hours of diagnostics right off the bat 2hrs at $90= $180 then even if he finds a blown fuse and fixes it in 30 seconds youre car will sit in the back and they will keep the meter (persay) running and might even change the motor just to justify there time or say it was a grounded/broken wire and boom bam buya a 30 second job turned into 4 hours for the tech and plus the 4hrs x $90= $360.00 big ones and the tech got his hours, you gotta understand the dealer forces them to do this because if not how will they get paid? its a lose- lose situation for both parties involved only winner is FORD!

The smaller dealerships take the most heat from Ford. The warranty claim pay ratio gets out of whack then they come in and audit. That ususally results in the dealership changing how it deals with mods by the customer. I ALWAYS remove the tune from my vehicles before they go in. I use the same service advisor for every visit and he knows not to flash my truck/car unless I know about it first. My dealer sells SCT & Bully Dog through the parts department, but they won't install them.

Ya kno when you think about this it is bullshit.. You pay top dollar for a car and they dont wanna back it up???:wtfOne time I took my lil bros 04 lighting cuz the check eng light was on (Downs ford BTW assholes) they told me I had a chip in it and poss a pulley that had been "removed". Funny thing is the truck had a cat back only and the only time the computer got flashed was by another ford dealer. Anyway I took it to Toms ford and they fixed it:D....It need a new PCM=Downs was to cheap to fix it!!

I hear some horrible stories all the time about warranty work. Whats worse is when they mess up something else when they're trying to fix other ****. I wish I could have declined the warranty and gotten the car for cheaper. I mean its not like I'm ever taking my car to them to fix something anyway.

Was that done at Terrebonne, I thought about bringing my car there for a gear swap.
